Deleted my facebook but wish facebook would be deleted instead.

So I think like 3 or 4 days ago (I forget) I deleted my Facebook. My main reason was because they had banned me for 24 hours. Now its become more of it use to control me. I honestly think it controls everyone. I mean if you look at the past 4-5 years Facebook has climbed to the top of social networks. Hell myspace wasn't even as bad as facebook is. I remember when I had a MySpace I checked it like once a day. When I had a facebook I checked that thing Several times a day. It was just so bad and now that I don't use it anymore I realize how bad it controls its users. Not only am I mad that it controls its users but i'm also mad that people don't even bother going onto AIM/MSN/ICQ/Skype (whatever Instant messenger you may use) anymore. All my friends on facebook that use to go on aim don't even check aim anymore they rather just use Facebook IM. Now Facebook is selling shares to its users? I think this is just getting out of hand. I'm not really sure if anyone on ATS uses Facebook, but if you do I urge you to delete it and rediscover other things such as the Instant message programs I just listed.

well lately I only use my cellphone to listen to music and call my mom. No one texts me because like I said, they all use Facebook IM. So I pretty much am on the right track. in 2013 ill completely get rid of it (when my 2 year contract is up).

How do you delete it, it says deactivate.... which is not delete. I still get emails about Facebook crap.

Don't know but I signed in and I got a message saying "you are banned from posting." So then I was gonna message everyone in my friend list that I was deleting it and it said I couldn't message anyone either.

I'm proud of you for "trying" to delete the CIA, but know that your voice is scrutinized and censored wherever you go... except your own privately owned website. There you own yourself and your own voice, everywhere else is bought and paid for by this point.

facebook keeps asking for my telephone number, i cant even log on to cancel my account, theres no one you can email to do this for you. there is no way in hell im giving them my phone number. anyone have any advice how i shut down my account?

Well see thing is I never posted any kind of information that could get me into trouble with the CIA so i'm not worried about that. I even had my friends check what I coulda possibly posted to get me banned but there was nothing that went against the Facebook ToS so I have no idea. The only thing the CIA knows bout me from my facebook is that I use to get drunk, and the state I lived in. I never put my cell phone on Facebook and never put personal business up on it.

I have no idea the only thing I can think of is use a number from online. I forget what those are called but they let you send and receive texts messages to people that have phones and so you can do stuff like that.

well you have to sign in to delete it, thats how it works.

you have to go into the settings and manuallly click every 'notification' to stop receiving emails.

back of topic... fb sucks. Even though I have deactivated my account, I am still on there.
