NASA Probe Captures 1st Video of Moon's Far Side

I just found this on the news in Space!

A gravity-mapping spacecraft orbiting the moon has beamed home its first video of the lunar far side — a view people on Earth never see.

The video shows a sneak peak really, the image is quite far. It doesnt really show detailed image. At the same time is better to just wait and see what they find. If there is anything up there, it would be hard to hide forever...

I am just fascinated that this is out... as before it was just a mystery that inspired many minds!


If you have any images to attached about some proof of some spaceship on the darkside please U2U me. I have heard of this but not really looked into it deeply as I am quite frank, I dont think it is true.

It should be noted that this is not the first video ever from the far side of the Moon. It is the first video from the GRAIL spacecraft.

Nice to see the far side that's the first time i've ever seen anything of it!

I'm just a bit disappointed with the lack of aliens and structures, and that Ingo swann book I read doesn't seem so great any more

Since I have a Nikon Camera Body that will shoot in candlelight without any noise, I'm fairly sure its just available tech to enhance what light is there. Old tech in fact I think. I have a twelve year old Sony Video High8 that will also film in candlelight without any trouble.

How strange, the far side looks remarkably similar to the near side....

All the common folk heard about the probe when it first went there that it was a "gravity" study probe.
Now, we have a video and from the video, evidently some studies will be done via video.

And as a NASA scientist begged us civilians a couple of weeks ago, all of you please squint at these vids and through your puny home telescopes to look for signs of alien artifacts! This is important to NASA!

I suspect that out of this probe, we will be allowed to start thinking about alien works on the Moon. Isn't that wonderful? Who in the world would have thought that would be possible? Of course, any "bases" found would be old bases, the inhabitants long gone....where? And what did they do while they were our near neighbors?

Oh, the excitement is building...well, maybe too slowly for some of us.

Upside down 5 pointed star in the centre of a crater, just at the end of the video before it fades to black, bottom right. Anyone??

No.
It was proposed (and not by any NASA scientist) that a systematic program similar to SETI@home be set up to have the general public examine images from the LRO satellite. Images, which BTW, are readily available on the web.
