Seriously. Those sites are not all about pirating movies etc. A LOT of places put out free to use products, books, music, etc. Or as an earlier poster
said: Developmental software and the sort. My son created a few albums, free for people to download and he had his files on mega uploads. Lost now.
Gone. Cuz of censorship and trying to tell people what they can and can not do. TONS of folks pay for subscriptions to store their stuff on sites for
easier access. It's not all about thievery.
On the other side of the story, I'm all for trying out huge expensive products before putting my hard gotten money into them. I refuse to pay 3k for
a music program or CS5 program or animation program, etc. I want to get the full thing first, fully try it out in every way (not those 'free trials
but half the stuff is blocked out so you can't use it til you buy it crap') and if I like it, buy it. If not, toss it and keep searching for the
right fit for my needs. If they take that away from me, I'm sure I won't be the only person who won't buy jack crap any longer from corporations.
I sure don't buy a house or car or boat or motorcycle or horse etc with only a trial of the full package. If someone told me sure you can try it out
but do not
a. drive it past 30 mph. Can't do that til you pay in full for it
b. don't go in the basement or attic and no turning on the water or flushing toilets until you pay in full for it.
c. don't take the horse past a walk until you pay in full for it.
d. Just walk the motorcycle around. You may start it but you can't drive it period til you pay fully for it.
I'd not buy jack crap. I want to try the entire thing, 100% for a few good go-abouts before I put in thousands or even hundreds for it.
