Iran, perceiving threat from West, willing to attack on U.S. soil, U.S. intelligence report finds

U.S. intelligence agencies believe that Iran is prepared to launch terrorist attacks inside the United States in response to perceived threats from America and its allies, the U.S. spy chief said Tuesday.

That plot “shows that some Iranian officials — probably including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei — have changed their calculus and are now more willing to conduct an attack in the United States in response to real or perceived U.S. actions that threaten the regime,” Clapper said in the testimony, which was submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee in advance of a threat assessment hearing Tuesday. “We are also concerned about Iranian plotting against U.S. or allied interests overseas.”

Iran has blamed the United States and Israel for a series of mysterious developments, including the apparently targeted killing of yet another Iranian nuclear scientist in Tehran on Jan. 11, as well as a crippling cyber attack on the country’s largest uranium enrichment facility.

Another spoonful of fear being spoonfed to the American public. The story is clearly aimed at justifing an attack on Iran and getting some backing from the american public. Of course Iran has to be attacked if they are threatening attacks on US soil.

Will they move into Iran in the next couple of weeks or will a 'trigger' be needed first? What dreadful occurance would result in a merciless all out attack on Iran? It would have to be much bigger than 'shock and awe'.

I saw on the news yesterday that Iran is only a year away from a nuclear weapon. I thought then that it was another scheme to bring the american people on board. Glad to see they are "covering all their bases" . I wonder what will happen next?

Just gotta LOVE the way the war mongers' minds work... assuming they do at all.

Here the US has been making threats for weeks now about attacking Iran. On their soil. It is not surprising then that Iran might be making plans to attack the US in whatever way they can, which may very well include "terror" attacks (also gotta love... when WE do it, it is war. When THEY - whoever THEY are - do it, it is terrorism) on US soil.

So. Now the war types in the US are going to use Iran's plans to attack on US soil as an excuse to attack Iran? On Iranian soil?

If these people were in charge of science, we'd be wondering why our horses don't go when we feed them coal.

I feel like beyond the propaganda factor this might be true. I think they wouldn't use any clandestine assets that are in the states in a preemptive fashion, as that would bring the shock and awe onto their homeland, but I think they would set up a second strike capability of planned terrorist strikes in the US.

"Page Not Found"......Anyways I live in Canada and I truly feel that WW3 Is going to take place in the near future........In my opinion it will start on U.S soil thus give the Americans "Justifiable" cause to invade another country.......Why Can't Everyone Just Get ALONG!!!!

Good find. All I can say is that I hope the number of people aware of "the game" grows exponentially. We definitely could use more whistle-blowers and guilt-ridden confessions to expedite the surfacing of truth. Unfortunately our society does a remarkable job of supporting sociopaths, egomaniacs, and pathological liers.

I see nothing new here. Just more US propaganda and rhetoric for war with Iran. Anything to make it out to be this massive threat to the US. Iran and about a dozen other countries could be compiled into this type of intent.

For anyone who hasn't read the article, the headline is based on testimony of US intelligence about last years assasignation on US soil. The witness it simply extrapolating that event into what he believes what future actions of Iran might include. No new evidence but obviously agenda driven article, deny ignorance.

Half of me says why haven't they if they could? The other half says False Flag Alert.
Kinda hard to fight back against random BOOM's in the streets.

Hey there's some sick and twisted people running this world into the ground, all for power and wealth. Some divine intervention would be nice at this point, because i've used my voice and it is ignored, along with the rest of the citizens of America.

We CAN NOT let TPTB start another war. I mean what hope is there, even with optimism i wouldn't want to bring a child into this world, knowing that they would never see a day go by where someone wasn't killed, or exploited by greed.

Isn't the reason you warmongers vote for these people? That maybe enough war will prevent war?

Well yeah, but the US-Israel have committed dozens of acts of war against Iran in the last 5 years with the cover operations inside Iran, blowing stuff up and assassinating people.

I think when the US and Israel move against Iran it will have to be very very HARD. To be able to do this they will need a really good excuse. God only knows what that might turn out to be. And time is running out.

The goading didn't work, because Iran is showing signs of "complience" with UN inspectors and they cut trade with europe to give them a taste of what the US wants. Therefore the US needs a plan B, my gut feeling, NUCLEAR or BIOLOGICAL FALSE FLAG.

They won't do a preemptive strike using terrorism. At least I hope not. Iran is in a situation where they can inform the US how they will hurt it, kind of like looking a bully in the eye, but they won't make the first actual move. It would be suicide for them.

At least that is what I hope. I really hope common sense and reason wins the day with Iran, because throwing a match into this fire could cause an explosion unlike anything we have ever seen before.

Hey if all the people that want war blow each other up, what's bad about that? I'm anti-war and wouldn't have the slightest problem if all the repubs, dems, ayatollahs, suicide bombers, or anyone who resorts to violence went to an island and killed each other off.

I seriously can't believe people still resort to violence, after thousand of years of the EXACT same war process.
