Actually, Einstein. The League of Nations slapped oil embargos on Japan because of its aggressive invasions of Pacific countries. Nobody forced Japan into a corner - they asked for it.

They slapped embargos on Japan thereby giving Japan the only option they believed they had at that time. President Roosevelt had banned all exports of scrap iron, steel and oil to Japan. The reason for the embargo was the Japanese invasion of China. Japan had lost more than 90% of its oil supply. The economic isolation crippled their economy and military.

I guess its easy to throw stones at a glass house when your on the outside looking in.

I do get carried away sometimes too specially when thinking emotionally but then people dont take seriously your discussion anymore.

Maybe this can be inspiration for both to make a threat on what you are trying to say as people like me, dont follow!

I wasn't saying I am in favor of a small group of anybody ruling the planet. I am totally against it. I just don't like to see people get labeled because of their race or religion or country. It's like North Korea. The rulers at the very top are crazy, but we can't say all North Koreans are power hungry idiots. There are so many people starving there and living in poverty but can't do anything about it. The phoney crying at the death of the Dear Leader was an example of that. Don't cry hard enough, go to prison. I spent the worst year of my life on that miserable border and hated the Dear Leader for making me have to be there. I have no problem with the people there though. I for one will make an honest effort to make sure I don't rant on a people, country or religion, if I'm pissed at the leadership of the group. Not evreyone has the freedom to complain or try to change things in their countries without threat of death or prison.

This guy is defending nations that have done the most appalling things to Human beings and is turning it around like the United States is the bad guy! He first defended Irans right to commit genocide on the Jews and infidels, and hang homosexuals, stone adulterers to death, etc., etc., and now hes defending the Imperial Japanese. I don't see it as a "why we hate America" thread, constructive criticism is a great learning tool. I wish all governments would be held fully accountable to their citizens.

No, the UN just allows countless children to be trafficked and sold into sexual slavery in EVERY area of operation that they have been involved in. What could possibly be wrong with that, eh? Don't believe me, google Dyncorp's involvement in Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq and you start to get a clearer picture. The UN is a two faced beast if you ask me. There are many people on these forums who view things in the way you describe, which does make one think they support war-mongering. I think people like this are ignorant, because they haven't looked into what is going on for themselves. I have been watching the MSM for the past few days, which I hardly ever do, and there are many stories that I hear absolutely nothing about.

So I say to those who are ignorant, even though I know they won't accept that they are, get online and seek out reputable sources that report ALL the facts, and who are not biased in any way. There are many ways to know that the MSM does not report correctly, but my favorite is to simply look at the fact that we have conservative and liberal leaning MSM outlets...

HOW is THAT unbiased, impartial reporting, which is what they are SUPPOSED to provide? Or, rather what people THINK they provide. Those who remain ignorant, when they watch these networks, do not understand that they are getting a skewed or slanted view of things, because subconsciously they think that they are receiving the news "how it is", in an impartial way.

I am not really an apologist for Iran, but I know when something is right or wrong, and I either know or can find out when I am being lied to, if there is a way. In this case I have found that, go figure, the US has an unpublished agenda they wish to fulfill by pressuring Iran, threatening them and countries who support them to an extent, and the people do not hear about this agenda because the MSM will not talk about it.

It is something that can logically be concluded by viewing the past actions and reasoning of the US government, therefore I believe that attacking or invading Iran is unjustified, from multiple standpoints.

I am an American, and I LOVE my country, but I can not and will not remain quiet when my country is being driven into the ground by greedy and corrupt politicians and businessmen, while the citizens are being lied to so they remain ignorant, so these corrupt parties can get away with profiting off of the death of thousands of foreign citizens, as well as the deaths of those soldiers and marines who THINK they are "defending" their country. Give me a break.

I do have a problem when some call those with my point of view anti-American. Since when is locating and attempting to correct the major problems and dishonest government dealings within a country mean that one is against that country. It has been said time and time again that America is headed for a dark place, morally and economically, and it does not take much to convince any rational person that this is the case...

Therefore I say anyone who sits idly by and defends the actions of those who put us in this position in the first place, who continue to war-monger other nations, and virtually drive our country into despotism, are the ones who are anti-American. So those of you who are ignorant of facts, and think they love their country, I challenge you to re-examine your patriotism based on where the nation is headed, and re-evaluate whether you should be supporting that. One can seek change and upset the status quo while not being a traitor to their country, ie un-American or anti-American. There is nothing more American.


Addressing your claim of anti-Islamic people and posts...The main problem I have with Islam is that some of its followers think it is okay to murder those who aren't Islamic. Is this what Islam teaches? If so, then it teaches and condones not only INTOLERANCE, but murder itself.

If this is what Islam teaches, then I think EVERYONE who isn't Islamic should be against it. However, I do not think that just because some people support invading Iran does not mean they are anti-Islamic, and to say as much is a simple logical fallacy.

So while I agree that many individuals on the forums are ignorant war-mongers, although not the majority, I also believe that many of these same people can be rather tolerant, and probably do not hate Islam or its followers simply because they are Islamic or Middle-Eastern...There are some who hate anything that is different, and they fall in with the ignorant. They are not stupid, they simply have not sought to learn from what is in front of them, and they could probably benefit from a religion.

So I say that no one should be against the religion of any other individual, UNLESS, and this is the key exception, that religion wishes to either disrupt or interfere with the lives of the people of any other religion. However, by the words disrupt and interfere, I do not mean in a mundane way, such as would be the case in religious proponents attempting to convert an individual of another religion; rather, I mean disrupt or interfere in a more active way, by persecuting those of another religion.

I'm reaching post limit, so I will just say that I do not agree or disagree with, or support or condone any other topic that you have addressed in your thread, that I did not bring up in this post.

Yeah, I definitely have noticed more people suddenly acting more anti-Islamic. I'm used to the people who are against protecting Israel but a shift in many people seems to be happening. You look like a weird conspiracy theory guy if you say we should be friends with Iran and tell Israel, "Good luck!" They do have a pretty strong army and definitely aren't dealing with an economic chasm that may be the end of America and every country who's foolishly helped us fund unnecessary wars thinking that even though we were already drowning in debt that we could pay each country back. How many wars do men like Bush and Obama expect us to be heavily involved in to the point we can't extricate ourselves? They say war is a great racket but the recession hasn't improved. Hopefully the media will stop intentionally burying Ron Paul even when he's doing well compared to other GOP candidates. Every time there's a debate, he makes them look like fools(while occasionally saying something a little crazy but he's honest and wants change.) I won't vote for anyone but him. And I actually don't support Israel or Iran but it seems that they're not a threat to America so why bother?

People will accuse you of being racist even if you're just telling the truth. America isn't invincible and neither is the human race. Just look at dinosaurs. I think most rational people would agree avoiding wars at all costs when we're not even in danger and are alienating potential allies who have resources we need when the world has a volatile, ominous underlying threat that you can sense many feel(this site is rampant with paranoiacs for example.) It's not like invading Iraq was a smashing success and it seriously frightens me that politicians, patriots who believe Team USA is always the good guy or everyone else can have such odd short term memory loss. I honestly have no hope for America recovering from the four or five wars in which we are involved or Obama is basically preparing for(Iran.) I used to consider myself a Liberal but now I'd say I'm a Libertarian but the brainwashed Liberals who keep saying everything is Bush's fault still are just delusional. Obama promised so many things, and he hasn't made good on ANYTHING. He's made a lot of money and treated his family to elaborate, million dollar vacations and parties. He's also probably written his fourth book(or more memoirs)so he'll be okay. Hopefully Americans will wake up and vote for a guy who might actually be crazy enough to follow through on his promises.
