Dwarf tossing draws outrage

www.cbc.ca

Dwarf tossing continues to come under fire.

Weeks after the novelty ‘sport’ gained international attention at the Golden Globe Awards, a strip bar in Windsor, Ont., plans to host a dwarf tossing competition Saturday night.

Customers at Leopard’s Lounge and Broil can register for the chance to literally throw a little person.

Jamie Danforth of Windsor is the father in a family of four little people and called it "ignorance at its highest level."

Contrary to public opinion, a widely known (or perhaps not so known) sport has come under fire again.

A strip club in the city of Windsor, Ontario, Canada has organized a sporting event and it has come under fire from the media.

As everyone knows, "dwarf tossing" or "throwing a little person as far as you can while you are hammered" is a sport that should be protected by the right to choose wisely and make life altering decisions while under the influence of alcohol.

Or is it?

Hmm...

We are talking about a competition being sponsored/held by a strip club ... since when does that combo scream "good taste"

You know, not to be insensitive or anything, but if a dwarf/little person wants to get tossed, why sweat it? Maybe it's fun.

I mean if the people involved with this sport all have no hard feelings about it I am down for it. I think that it is awesome that they can use this disability in a positive way to make money for themselves and bring smiles to peoples faces. As long as there is no exploitation and general dickery going on in this scene I think it is a good thing

Ahh... I see this was moved from alternative breaking news to general chit chat. However, I ask what sport is more alternative than dwarf tossing?

Back in the day, Mr T was on a show called "The World's Toughest Bouncer" and one of the events was midget tossing.

What's my opinion of this? Hey, stuntmen get paid to do stuff like this or even worse, so if a midget/dwarf wants to earn some $$$ by getting thrown onto some mats, who am I to criticize them?

some people , its the makings of a great evening, strippers , alcohol and tossing dwarfs .

things have been rather dull since the roman empire collapsed.. now they knew how to party.
not like people today who complain over a little fun entertainment..

I just don't get the entertainment value.

Well apparently the moral police say that they cant.

What is this world coming to when two consenting adults cant even do what they want ?

I bet ya that most of the people that dont agree with dwarf tossing have watched Austin Powers and laughed at every scene with Mini Me in it.

Edit to add.
I have heard that Mini Me was in a Porn movie, and i bet ya Mini Me didnt mind when he was being tossed off

Ok, lets start tossing moral police instead. I feel bad for the actress, I mean that had to be the lamest scene of her career not to mention the most fake orgasm in history
