Whatever happened to Rossi's E-Cat?

I'm super skeptical, but I allowed myself to be enamored by the E-Cat. Our understanding of physics is ever evolving, so it always seemed odd and arrogant to me that LENR was written off outright. But Rossi had the endorsement from, as far as I know, at least one Nobel laureate in physics and a head of NASA. If I recollect correctly, an American company was set to do business and run tests for the system in the last quarter of last year after at least one previous partnership (with Greece I believe) dissolved. But I haven't heard anything about it in a few months for better or worse. For a while there it was getting mainstream press on the internet at sites forbes, Fox News, and popular mainstream tech sites such as wired...And a simple google search doesn't show much recent developments. So was Rossi a fraud? Was he bought out or intimidated? Or is this still going down?

The last thread I read about it was this one:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

But I think the video it linked to wasn't actually about the E-cat...

E-Cat Weekly -- January 26, 2012 - This past week saw over 40 stories from 8 dedicated sites and three mainstream sources, with highlights including: Rossi's former partner, Defkalion announcing they are ready for 3rd party testing of their Hyperion; Rossi deflecting claims that the University of Bologna has severed ties; an update on Chan's copy of the E-Cat; and a possible indirect reference to the E-Cat Obama's state of union address.

In my opinion The only reason Albert E said it was impossible was to make the Russians look bad. When the Governments have been sitting on it for decades. Now they can control the technology they will release "Free Energy" through Gov approved sources.

If Rossi’s equipment is indeed eventually proven – beyond all shadows of skeptical doubt and the usual scientific scrutiny – then this is a significant culture-and-society-transforming milestone, for such long duration testing is, as the article avers, necessary to prove the reliability of the concept for the actual practical production of power.

That his equipment has been constantly operating for this amount of time and putting out steam consistently – if born out by further tests and acceptance – will be a game-changer. Think about it for a moment: delivering electrical power without coal, without natural gas, without oil… and by relatively simple means. Miniaturize that technology and one could drive cars, trucks, trains… perhaps airplanes… Bad news for the current power elites (who, you can be sure, are meeting secretly and quietly to try to figure out how to monopolize the new technology while their controlled lamestream media continue to ignore the news, and while their political sock puppet candidates Bland Mittney and Baruch Oblahma continue to blather stupidly about alternative forms of energy, ethanol, hybrid cars, tax breaks…well, you get the idea)….

If Mr. Rossi’s experiments do eventually prove to be not only valid but viable to everyone’s satisfaction, and his invitation to MIT’s Colloquium certainly indicate at least a quiet confidence in certain circles, then his discovery will not only go down as a scientific revolution, but a cultural one, for it will be one more concussing shock to the “matrix” civilization those elites have carefully built up over the last century. If so, those self-appointed “masters of the universe” will go down as some of the most colossally stupid and narcissistic people in human history.

Probably everyone with money and reputation has given up dealing with such a loose cannon.
So many of these inventors are so paranoid and desiring of secrecy and eventually massive profit (or fame) that they cannot share and their ideas and tech fade into obscurity as the inventor ages and eventually dies.

The concept of intellectual property IMO is one of the biggest hurdles to keeping humanity in the past. If you get an original idea, it came from 'source' so it's not yours anyway. If it's a development of someone else's idea, it's still not yours.

The idea you can own ideas is completely counter intuitive and counter productive for us as a species. Just another legacy of the broken and now-useless monetary system.

It’s Official US Startup Admits to Purchasing Rossi’s E-cat LENR Technology

Well this seems to be new....

A North Carolina based company called Industrial Heat LLC has come out and admitted that it now owns Andrea Rossi’s ecat low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) technology. Industrial Heat has put out a press release in which it confirmed rumors that it had spent $11 million to purchase Rossi’s device.
