Gingrich (R) 40%
Romney (R) 34%
Santorum (R) 11%
Undecided 7%
Paul (R) 6%
None of the above 1%
so with all the negativity Newt is still in the lead, when his pants are full of lead, so as is head.

The GOP wants a candidate who can blast Obama and the MSM.

Go Newt!

I read Newt got $2 million in donations the day he won South Carolina!!

None of these GOP clowns can beat Obama. None. The polls consistently reflect this. Opinion polls of Republicans in general are in the toilet. Obama polls higher than any of them.

I don't support either party here, so i don't have a dog in this hunt.

Obama is so beatable, and this crew was the best the GOP could do? They amass a handful of people that lose to Obama in every poll just so they can cowtow to the millionaries and the lunatics in the tea party.

Prepare for four more years.

I know I'm only British, and probably don't understand, but how come all the Republican supporters on ATS are now excited by Gingrich and don't mention Ron Paul? The two appear to have hugely different views, and it seems pretty pathetic just to support who ever looks like winning.

What I believe she is doing is that she knows the GOP hate her so she says Newt can't win. This causes the right to vote emotionally instead with logic and reason. She wants Newt to be the nom because polls show him dead last against Obama. www.realclearpolitics.com...

I wondered the same thing. But over here, we like to call it "Jumping On the Bandwagon"

Newt Gingrich is a lying sack of #### and there's no way in hell he will ever beat Obama. Neither will Romney and definitely not Santorum! Some of these over zealous supporters running their mouths about a few standing ovations "The Grinch" received in one state are just fooling themselves. He's a complete hypocrite and has already been caught in more lies than I can keep up with and the rest of the nation knows it too. Nancy Pelosi is just picking at "The Big Fat Grinch", reinvigorating the anger and confusion amongst the GOP. It's all actually rather comical if you ask me. They look like kindergarteners pointing fingers at the biggest lier. And so far, it's the Grinch. Mute Gingrich couldn't sell a book of matches to an eskimo
let alone take to the stage and stand toe to toe with Obama. It'll be a cold day in hell before that ever happens.

I also don't have a horse in this race, but I sure would like to think Ron Paul could win. Unfortunately, the masses don't know enough about him and he's not throwing enough money into his campaign to get his message across to a wider audience. Although honest while debating, he seems to have a difficult time getting his points across. Not to mention, the hosts of the debates thus far really haven't allowed Ron Paul much debate time.

So sad....looks like we'll be stuck with Captain Obvious again

Well, the more Prince pelosi attacks Mr. Gingrich, the I'm leaning my vote for him. So, obviously there's a reason why they want Newt out of the picture and I think if obama and Newt have a debate obama'll be curled up in a little ball wimpering by the time Newts done with him.

And there you have it! Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, the democrats have figured out by now that the republican party is prone to do whatever is the opposite of what they're doing? Sounds to me like you're playing right into their hands. So please, go ahead and vote for Newt, we would like nothing more than to see him nominated.

Yeah, obviously!
Obama and the DNC have been doing everything in their power to keep Newt in this race so as to drag out the republican primary process. What they didn't know was that they would start eating their own. So much for their 11th commandment.

Just remember that if Newt gets the nomination, Barney Frank is going to be convinced that it because he has lived a good life. Looks like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Vote for Newt to piss off Nancy and you please Barney or vote against Newt and disappoint Barney at the pleasure of Nancy. Man I'm glad I'm not republican!

Run....Newt.....Run!

Instead, you guys are throwing rocks at him.

That's because in my book, germs deserve more respect than Newt Gingrich and it will be a cold day in hell before I have anything good to say about him.

With respect to the 2012 election, I really don't care who which one of those clowns get the nomination because none of them stand a chance of winning.

Actually, what it comes down to is the country can't take another four more years of obama. So if Newt falls under the anybody but obama, so be it.

I don't have a dog in this fight.
I just want to make an observation.
We all know here on ATS that Obama has a bunch of secrets hidden away and in danger of being exposed.
I'm thinking that the Dems are trying to head off a full-bore Rep. attempt to get him on his lies and they have data on Gingrich they will use to stop it.

Political blackmail. It is a fact of life in DC.

Yeah Nancy is using reverse psychology to get the nom they want. They know that Newt ,even though the ultra-right is in love with him, the rest of the counrty really don't like him. You can't win a general election on one side of the isle only. Plus Nancy probably has a lot of dirt on him working with him so long and her daughter said she doesn't want to serve in Congress anymore so I don't think she would be worried about losing her seat. If I was a Fox News Republican, I would want a candidate that the left says would be a good candidate or a candidate not even being talked about at all. Just because a candidate has good mic skills doesn't mean they would be a good president. If you look at politics like professional wrestling, then it all makes sense.

The really funny part of this? Republicans are the only ones who pay attention to Pelosi anymore. They have a weird fixation with her that I can't explain.

It kinda made me throw up in my mouth a little, but when she said that my first thought was that her and Newt did the nasty. Must go scrub my brain with bleach now

Seems to be a growing habit with him.

The Washington DC elites are coming out of the woodwork. Trash Newt !

Gov. Sarah Palin says the elitists are trying to crucify Newt so their boy Mitt Romney
can go up against Obama.

Mitt Romney is too much of an empty suit.
He should take his $200 Million and go to Grand Cayman Island for a long vacation.

+This is funny! The repubs are scrapping the bottom of the barrel. None of them could shine Obama's shoes. The thought of Newt running against Obama has the GOP leadership scared. Bob Dole and Tom Delay are holding their noses over the thought. Its pretty bad when disgraced GOP members like Delay are screaming foul. But i agree with them. I like them remember the Nixon and Kennedy debate and how this will add fodder to the ole argument that "events in history are often repeated." Imagine if you will, the old ugly basketball head, narrow shoulders and fat child bearing hips, women hating sarcastic and narcissistic bore fading into the background when Obama breaks out with "oldies but goodies" Motown hits to spellbound the world. Not only will there be an increase in nostalgic record sales, but also cinching the election as well. Maybe then Newt will take the hint and dissipate.

The most likely thing that Pelosi would have over Newt would be that the tax fraud charges were dropped in exchange for his resignation from Congress. He was extraordinarily lucky to not end up in jail for that.
