Nope, they won't even report on it in the first place.

I agree with you FTD. I only posted this because Anonymous took down the FBI's or CIA's website for a little while a few days ago. If its real I'm curious how it will pan out. Ron Paul can just disavow them if there threat is carried out.

But I'm starting to lean to the side of...."this isn't Anon".

Are you people serious with this.. "THIS IS ANON" and "THIS ISNT ANON" crap?

Anonymous is the closest to actual democracy we have in the entire world. Anyone can post anything anywhere at any time and claim it to be from Anonymous, and if enough people support it and spread it, it becomes the will of the people.

Anonymous isn't merely a bunch of hackers, though there are hackers amongst them. They are everyone.

Time will tell if this catches enough steam to actually BE the will of Anonymous, but I doubt it will come to pass.

I seriously doubt the group behind this has the skill to carry about the sort of attacks they're planning when they're suggesting supporters use LOIC.

But as the video points out, they only plan on disrupting the internet feed of the debate, not the television stream.

So basically they most likely lack the skill to actually carry out the attack they're threatening in addition to the fact even if their attacks are successful, they will only been seen by a small group watching on the internet stream.

This is what is known in Anonymous circles as a "personal army," attempt, because it creates the assumption that every single Anon will vote for Ron Paul. People seem to have difficulty understanding the concept that Anonymous aren't a conventional organisation; and one element of that is the fact that they do not have a single, fixed opinion about anything.

The other area where this is difficult to believe, is that Paul's politics (at least in terms of what he's claiming, which personally I think is probably a lie) are a throwback to the Constitution's founders; which is to say, the Old Right. Right Libertarianism doesn't

If Anonymous can be generalised about at all politically, most of them that I've seen are Left anarchists. There's a fairly big divide between those two perspectives.

Jeez, Ron Paul zealots are sure easy to get worked up.

Anonymous takes no side in politics. They've stated this many times. If anything this is a sort of false flag. If i were to guess, I'd say this was something orchestrated by one of the other GOP candidates in an attempt to bring down Ron Paul. Then again, *anyone* can claim to be Anonymous, so who knows. It's not like there is some sort of membership test or dues that need to be paid in order to post videos claiming to be Anonymous.

That said, this does nothing to change my long standing negative opinion of Ron Paul. I do find it kind of funny that those on the right who have been keen to condemn Anonymous in the past are suddenly changing their tunes with the hint of support for Ron Paul.

So they're going to take down CNN
So?
Corporate media. Take down FOX too. CBS? Take it out too and perhaps we can start getting some real news out there instead of the twisted biased crap they pump out.
I doubt Anon would be on this at all, its probably a hoax. It happens.

Who anonymous is, is dependant on your perception.
Some see them as criminals and only that,
Some see them as fighters of freedom,
It really depends on where you want the world to go i suppose..

If you're tired of the corporatocracy, biased media, wallstreet and the banking cartel,
The Anon would be the closest thing to freedom fighters that you can get. No one else is fighting it.

Well you can add this to the mix. The Youtube video is no longer available with the following "error" message:

"The video has been removed as a violation of YouTube's policy on depiction of harmful activities."

This will probably be the biggest trick they are pulling to remove RP from this race...Like others said above this isn't something Anonymous would do. So yeah I am going out on a limb and say its just another trick to fool the people into thinking that RP supports hacktivist. Not buying it

youtube vid censored because of it's "depiction of harmful activities"?

what a croc of crap. If an anon video constitutes "harmful activities",

then could use the excuse of "depicting harmful activities" to take down 50% of the videos on youtube.

first ones: justin beiber. very harmful to the intelligence.

Again, they are not taking down anything, few hours of downtime is nothing, they are called anonymous cause sheeps click their ping flood links to contribute. They have done nothing, releaved nothing and still people bother to hype about it.

SO was anyone watching the internet feed? Did they take it down or was there nothing to report?

"Video removed.... due to violation of harmful activities.

You, my friend, have a conspiracy in a conspiracy here. It shows how youtube is starting to censor content that is aimed at activism. These are very strange, and scary times. An internet war is begining, and it's really the final frontier when it comes to "freedom."

This is the online population's own fault.

The Internet was originally completely decentralised, in terms of layout. People traded video and music files over thousands of different IRC channels, on close to a hundred different networks. The government and Big Media had no ability to do anything about it whatsoever.

Then that changed, because the Internet slowly became invaded with technophobic idiots (read: the mainstream majority) to whom superficial ease and convenience became the most important priority, irrespective of anything else. IRC, FTP, telnet, Usenet etc slowly stopped being used, and the Internet degenerated into a monoculture that was based exclusively on the World Wide Web. Singular, monolithic websites where, not only could the average user find all material easily, but so could the government and the media cartels.

The result, is the governmental and media capacity for effortless censorship, that you now see before you. YouTube and Facebook are fascist governments' dream, compared to the Internet pre-2000. From the perspective of liberty, they are abominations which should not exist; but people who do not have the intelligence to know better, insist on them, because of their ease and convenience.
