NAIROBI, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Two foreign aid workers from Danish Refugee Council's demining unit, Danish Demining Group, kidnapped last week in Somalia are alive and well, the organization has confirmed.

Jessica Buchanan, 32, and Poul Hagen Thisted, 60, were seized by gunmen on Oct. 25 after visiting humanitarian projects in the northern Galkayo.

"I have been told that contact was established today (Sunday), and I am pleased to announce that both Poul and Jessica are doing well given the circumstances," Ann Mary Olsen, head of the council's international department, said in a statement received here on Monday.

No, it's not awfully coincidental, as I have already pointed out, they share the same name and nationality, that is it.


They ARE NOT the same age.

They were kidnapped in completely different circumstances.

The Somalia Jessica studied in Pennsylvania, she was from Cincinnati, Ohio and she was living in Somalia from 2009.

There are lots of blonde hair, blue eyed Jessica Buchanans on Facebook alone.

Having a "hero" boyfriend actor on a soap is not uncommon, neither is sending special forces to rescue hostages.

There is no evidence (AFAIK) to suggest Somalia Jessica has Hepatitis C, Hep C is a Liver disease, not kidney as claimed in the OP.

End of fairytale.

The only thing that is similar is their names.

I haven't even heard of this girl until this thread, but then again I don't watch TV much

I DO have one life to live, and I don't waste it watching soap operas.

There was a case last year where two elderly English people got kidnapped and their families ended up paying a ransom..I said the same thing - wtf was they thinking. . .

They didn't "sail" into anything, she was kidnapped on land while doing a humanitarian aid inland. Mine reduction in fact. No they weren't filling in holes, they where assisting in removing land mines in the area to reduce the the risk to local farmers who need the land to plant crops....

I don't know if it was fake or not, it could have been. I thought it was kinda strange they recorded the fight between the seals and the pirates. They just showed a group of guys at night time firing at some building. If you ask me that scene they showed on the news constantly that I just talked about looked alot like videos from Iraq war.

Fights usually happen between two or more more people who really don't like each other.

The cover of darkness is usually better for these sort of raids.

People have been seeking shelter in buildings of one form or another since the dawn of man, from caves to huts / buildings etc.

War / battles tend to look similar quite often.
