I was just browsing the NASA Soho site and I watched the most recent LASCO C3 movie. What the hell happens on the 2012-01-23. Looks like the satellite goes into overtime... anyone ? Would love some explanation

I believe that is a video of the flare they are refering to as the biggest in 6/7 years. jawdropping if I do say so myself, all the crazyness your seeing is uncountable amounts of charged particles spraying across space.
