Something funny about ATS...and the whole world for that matter

Wuddup.
This is my very first thread, so please bear with me. I would like to discuss a strange personal phenomenon I have keenly began to notice about ATS and pretty much the entire world.
I am a longtime lurker of ATS. Well, since last year, before I even became a member of ATS, I noticed that certain thoughts I have, or even 'visions', pertaining to the nature of the Universe, and life in general, somehow manifest their way onto threads posted by members. What I mean is that ill think about something, or ask a question to myself, and the answer just somehow comes to me, in the form of media, even television shows. For example, i had questioned to myself subjectively of course, whether or not I should join the Army Reserves. Well as soon as i went on ATS, i discovered a thread where an individual declared that they are going into the ArmyReserves in June.

It used to blow my mind when this happened, and for awhile i thought maybe im just 'trippin'. But the happenings are so frequent and too coincidental, that i decided something is going on...
I've been fascinated by synchronicity ever since i first read about it in The Holographic Universe, and the works of Carl Jung. I believe it could be the culprit, but I feel there is something much more deeper going on than just simple synchronicity.
My question is, has any other members noticed this? Is anybody else also aware of this strange fact? I do believe in the Collective Unconscious, as well as the We are all one philosophy...but this seems different for some reason. For awhile I even thought way left, and started thinking there is something going on against me, as though my thoughts are being projected and seen, and some kind of force is letting me figure out that they can read my subconscious mind...although I know this is very unlikely, though not implausible. What are ya'lls thoughts on this? Am I tripping? Or are there other keen observers of these strange coincidental happenings? And no I am not schizophrenic, I know ppl cannot read or physically see my thoughts, contrary to what a schizo believes. It was just a theory nothing else.

I definitely think the universe has some synchronicity stuff going on. I read this article about synchronicity, and they talked about molecules scientists were trying to crystallize (or something) with no success. Then when they finally got it, the same types of molecules world-wide were easier to crystallize. At least it was something like that.

But a lot of the time it's just statistics. The Army Reserves? There are like 7 billion people in the world, and a good chunk of those people probably want to join the Reserves. As for reading it on ATS, people pretty much post everything on ATS. I could be thinking about bananas then I'm sure within weeks some thread somewhere would mention bananas.

Yep, discussed this with my sisters just a few weeks ago!

This very thing seems to be happening very often, even in everyday life, about small things. I can be thinking about someone and they'll call me (I know, it happens...but lately it's FREAKY how often). I even noticed that if I think really hard "paycheck will be here a day early" it shows up in the mail that day! But it also works in not so good ways! If I am driving to town and think "I hope no cop messes with me" I can almost guarantee that I'll see numerous police out and about. And where I live, we only have 2 police cars that patrol at one time (town of less then 3, 000).

Those are small things, but it happens with enough frequency that I am beginning to think that my thoughts bring the things I am thinking about to me!! Does that make sense?

I find myself trying really hard not to think about anything negative for fear that it will become reality!

It's kinda like this...in your life if you want good things to happen to you. Just think positive all the time and be happy and always think something good is going to happen to you and it will. If you just sit around and be stupid and think nothing ever matters it wont. Not sure what to call it but seems to work.

That was on point what you said, and yes it makes perfect sense. I am starting to believe the same thing, that my thoughts are attracting certain things into physical reality, essentially what I put out subjectively comes back objectively into my awareness. Like an etheric boomerang effect. I know this can also be likened to the Law of Attraction and Manifestation, which states anything we think, we become. Even the Bible mentions the law of attraction, "So a man thinketh, so a man becometh" or something to that nature. I guess it isn't anything too bizarre or mindblowing....but one thing you said did strike me, there definitely has been a drastic increase since the end of last year of these synchronized episodes. Perhaps my fascination with synchronicity is causing it to occur more often to where I am beginning to notice them more consciouslly.
Also I understand that it could just be coincidences, but think about this...why is that those coincidences only occur after I thought about them??? Why is that no other day on ATS do I see a topic about someone going to join the Reserves, except on the very day and merely an hour or so after I had the very thought myself ?? Am I being irrational?

I totally agree with you...think positive and good things manifest into your life...tread wisely in thought because the world is a perfect objectivized reflection of you individual state of mind.
It has gotten to the point where I almost fear negative thoughts, and anytime they pop up in my mind, I just simply switch whatever I'm thinking about to something 'better' I guess.
For me, its a battle of the conscious on a microcosmic scale everyday...
Strange and bizarre things do happen when one begins exploring synchronicity, I also think it is a function of the Law of Attraction...

Its strange you mention this! This has been happening to me! The other night i was walkin home in a small thunderstorm and im terrified of lightning. So i kept thinkin i hope lightning doesnt strike me. Next thing you know i see a flash that blinded my vision for a split second and my heart dropped. Nothing happened but the flash, no sound, nothing. I was still alive! I get in my house like 30 seconds later and as soon as i walked in my house lightning struck exactly where i was standing when i first saw the flash. It was so loud it knocked stuff off the walls and woke my mom up! The funny thing is that i was running as fast as i could to get home, if i was jogging or walked i'd probably be dead right now. A few other things have happend with a few of my friends aswell. We would be talkin about an old episode or song and less than 5 minutes they would come on. This has happened to me alot. Another thing is thinkin the same exact thing as a friend! another time we were talkin about someone we havent seen in years and not even 5 minutes later we see him. Oh yeah another thing, im joining the army reserves here soon...crazy!

You are Jungian? Very cool. I never understood the love affair psychology had with Freud during the 70s and 80s, and the disdain that was shown Jung. But thankfully that trend seems to be reversing itself. Freud (and his daughter Anna) are kinda on the outs and Jung is making a comeback. Jung ... very cool.

You know, this is very odd. I was posting on a thread about the origin of the sound in the sky, he was talking about the Dogon and their legends, and the sound one of their devices makes when its spun around, it sounds smiliar. And they liken the sound to the sound the 'Nommos' made when they were here on earth (a fishlike humanoid), the thread is here.

But what was really weird was the part about Sirius,
I've been thinking a lot about or closest neighbor on the same plane as us, and the possibility of it being our stars sister (binary),
Thinking about it a lot, and up comes this thread here that gave some credence to it,
Visitors from sirius, it was just mindblowing really, as you can see in the thread, i kinda go off on the topic and im ranting on as im finding new information..

Like the story of the Nommo's death, resurrection, and return to his own home in the sky.

Uh huh.
Coincidence would be 'once in awhile', not on a regular basis.

All things are mindful as a singular conscious, underlying the surface of reality, like icebergs that are connected yet give the illusion of individuality. So, I don't doubt inquisitive minds will ultimately share the same thoughts.

It happens to me ALL the time. One year I had a student teacher in my classroom, and he was AMAZED at how often it happened to me. So I guess this isn't the experience everyone has. But for me, synchronicity is the rule, not the exception.

I also agree with the idea of positive thoughts mentioned above. I am not one of those that goes as far as "The Secret", and I don't believe that EVERYTHING you think will manifest itself physically, but I DO think that if you are positive and optimistic, you will "discover" more good things are happening to you. Personally, I think that you are just more likely to notice the good things. Also, people will react more positively to you when you are positive; therefore, even MORE good things will happen because of that.

Can you please ask yourself about all the strange rumblings/sounds in the sky. I would really like to see the answer on here.

Yeah, I guess you are real special. I guess you are in "contact with the universe", or, atleast, "higher beeings". They focus all their "astral energy" to provide you with correct answers.

Few days ago I replied to the "strange sound" thread about no sound/lacking from Asia region, that night, my brother post a "strange sound" video from some Asia region and he is not really into this above top secret things, merely teenager.

I always look up to the sky and see if theres any UFO , hobby while smoking. One night, I kinda "ask" the UFO to show a bit, the next night, I saw something fly very fast, straight and silent crossing usual plane route, maybe UFO? Whatever it is, theres only sea where it went.

Prayer answered ? Coincidence ? I dont know, but the OP do have something to ponder.

I would call that the Dan Aykroyd paradigm, it didn't work out well for him initially.

i would call it "rule of attraction"


example:

* you dont want a cop to pull you over// you start thinkin "i hope i dont see any cops today" or "please dont pull me over, please!" and sure enough you get pulled over.

now you might say, "well i want to win the lottery really hard, why dont i ever win?"

easy... you see the way the rule of attraction works, is that you actually have to BELIEVE that you will win the lottery, deep down you know its a big strech therefore your mind realistically knows, that you will never win the lotto...and therefore those negative thoughts ATTRACT negavtive responses...


its easier for you to BELIEVE that a cop will pull you over, than winning the lotto, therefore your thoughts ATTRACT the officer...because you actually believe it...
