While the US has been shooting for minimum casualties for both soldiers and civilians, the US Iraq casualties have just reached a death toll of 1,000+ (currently 1,010 American deaths).

www.cnn.com
There have been 1,141 coalition deaths, 1,010 Americans, 65 Britons, six Bulgarians, one Dane, two Dutch, one Estonian, one Hungarian, 19 Italians, one Latvian, 10 Poles, one Salvadoran, three Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and eight Ukrainians, in the war in Iraq as of September 13, 2004. The list below is the names of the soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors and Coast Guardsmen whose families have been notified of their deaths by each country's government. At least 7,026 U.S. troops have been wounded in action, according to the Pentagon. The Pentagon does not report the number of non-hostile wounded. This list is updated regularly.

Is it just me or does everyone else agree it's time to pull out? 1,000 deaths is just unreal considering our major technological advantage. For death tolls for ALL US wars, click the following link:

You're right. That seems to be a high casualty rate for the U.S. How many is that per day? It must be mayhem over there.
If casualties stay that high this could look bad for Bush's reelection. It might cause people to stop and think if we should be in Iraq in the first place or whether we should pull out.

Well, the casualties are bound to stay that high, unless Bush really is talking to Jesus, and can talk him into a few reserections.

Thats just under 2 per day (2.1 per day including all coalition deaths). Sure that is a lot, but pulling out now is going to prove what? We cant hold our own? We are an easy target? We are afraid to fight back?

Even if Kerry gets elected, the troops are stuck there. He wont pull out either. We might as well keep as many as possible over there so that they can look out for each other.
