You make a fair point, all except one thing...

The subject I mentioned in my previous post - my personal point of interest - involves making items that could result in me being labelled as a terrorist if the wrong people were to see what I was searching, so the idea of covering my tracks by using tor intrigues me. I must stress at this point that I have absolutely no intention of actually making such items, I just enjoy learning how certain things are made. You never know, the knowledge could prove useful if a zombie apocalypse were to happen

But like you rightly point out, even tor isn't entirely safe for those kinds of searches, especially for beginners like myself, hence why I wouldn't touch it until I felt I knew enough to use it properly or if I basically had someone to 'hold my hand' so to speak.

Heck, you could land yourself in trouble just for talking about tor. I was describing it to a workmate and I mentioned something I saw earlier on this this thread about how you can be a few clicks away from child porn etc. The response I got was "don't go around telling people that you know how to get to that kind of stuff, you only need one person to get the wrong idea and you'll be doomed." Again, a fair point to make.

So yes, I agree with you to a certain extent, just bare in mind that not everyone is evil or naive

Just heard about TOR today. Is anything changed over the years? Did the recent news about NSA spying and all that change TOR? Deep Web? .onion?

Will be diving in when i get home tonight.

Even before the recent news about NSA spying it was thought that Tor wasn't totally secure from the NSA, as discussed in this thread:

www.wilderssecurity.com...

That was 6 years ago and if they thought NSA had access to Tor then, NSA capabilities have only improved since.

But, if you are trying to avoid being tracked by organizations with less computing power and resources than the NSA, it's probably still good for that.

Did you get the surprice??

Slow as a snail IN SYRUP...
NOTHING of actual VALUE...

What you can find there is nothing more or less of what you can find
in the OPEN WEB...
Exept CP....

Just like the open web thats the only thing that ALLWAYS work...

IMHO, tor is not worth using...

I never actually got around to looking at TOR more in-depth, just kind of forgot about it..

As it turns out, I didn't need it anyway! I was plodding through stumbleupon, using the "hacking" interest, and it just happened to come up with the Anarchist's Cookbook! Copy and paste into notepad, done. That'll do me
