Werewolf, the kind that can shift at will

A dangerous beast...I think limiting the werewolf's ability to transform during a full moon was a way to restrict its powers.

Vampires are the opposite; symbolizing death, entropy, the evil that cannot withstand the light, and self-imposed bondage

I've always been a little misinthropic myself; probably why I identify with the vampire.

Werewolves and vampires are diametrically opposed in my book.

They are great antagonists!

I really liked the vampire Victor in the Underworld series. I think I liked Marcus a little better. I really enjoyed the second Underworld movie, mostly the scenes in the beginning with the vampires on horses hunting the lycans and William.

Yeah, a real ghoul, thats the original model of the vampire before hollywood sexified it.

I think evil vampires are cooler anyway, the ones that actually look and act undead

Being HIV-poz has perhaps reminded me often of alienation. I think there are certain similarities between the vampire and being HIV-poz.

A previous post compared vampirism to a virus. It is an interesting and biological comparison.

You have to constantly protect people who are not like you. You end up constantly reminding yourself of your "otherness", and the poison in your blood.

That's a pretty introspective persective. Thanks for sharing that insight.

Really? I would think modern vampires are much more human than werewolves.

But theres so many kinds nowadays, I guess either could fit.

I love the big, dark woods too much and leaves me only one choice.

I'd have to take a walk on the wild side.

Probably one of the old school ones that causes people to avoid the woods at night and to bar their doors and shutter the windows when the moon is full and bright.

Twilight Vampire

Because i won't get burned in the sun yet have the cool powers. I guess the only downside is the emotional imbalance

I always wonted to be a vampire.
the Full moon put a stop to that!
I love animals to much and when I look at beautiful woodlands.
I get a feeling inside a longing to go in and never come out again.
sucks being a human.

Vampires...

Intriguing. I'd like to believe I'm well-versed with most mainstream vampire lore but I have never heard of this (the shoe thing). Just goes to show how much depth there can be to these legends and how rich in tradition they can be.

The werewolves from the Underworld series were pretty wicked. The make up artists and special effects team did a great job.

But they're only make-believe, right?

I'd want to be a vampire that feeds on vampires.

That be hot!

Would you have to change the mythos about blood, etc?

Also, how would our understanding of vampire physiology change?
