I think people read too much into things. Gods do not equal aliens. Gods are spirit, aliens are physical. They are not the same. Unless you are saying spirit doesn't exist and only aliens do, then you would be justified in saying that all angels, devils, gods, are really aliens from other planets...

Mauro is NOT lying through his teeth, he has no agenda. He is making a LITERAL translation of the OT and using only as it was written using consonates and without injecting meaning. The symbols mean what they mean...and nothing more or less. THAT is where Mauro is winning and your bloke is FAIL. Either way, it is painfully obvious that the original documents (scripture - really just a 'History' book) are referring to a race of beings (as exemplified by the many references to the 'Supreme Ones') and NOT about a single, omnipotent, all-knowing Being. That much is obvious.

Certainly sounds like AAT, to me.

What I truly love about this and many other forums is how people, individuals, inject into their posts "their" interpretations of what they "believe", i.e. how they were taught. Be it through the school system, religious institutions, peers and so on. To deny that this man that the OP has posted on is perverting "Original" text. That is to say the same human instinct that survives today to interpret "their" meaning into an "Original" text with out any type of learned training or through simply their own belief structure.

I feel jaded, I guess is the word I want to use, when I read simple minded, obtuse reactions to scholarly incites on a public forum. It saddens me that the OP and his post is being judged by individuals who, for what ever reason, refuse to take the blinders that the many institutions over the years have placed over their eyes. Why?? Why can these individuals step outside of their "canned" responses that they have formulated over the years and begin to look at this and other posts with open eyes?? Do you realize that comments like, "The pope is Jesus", or "The Lord will strike down your attempts for knowledge", or "I don't have time to watch a 15 minute video from a person that has spent his entire adult life researching a dead language and bringing his knowledge to the masses." Really?? 15 minutes of your life. Yes I do realize in the Before you post sections to summarize what the video is saying, but I believe that the OT did set a precedent for the video and article. It got me to watch and...re-register for this site.

I guess for all intensive purposes, I will have to, as in life, read over the mindless ramblings of trolls and the like and read with interest knowledgeable conversations from both sides of the discussion. Meaning there is no judgement with any post on any subject, just "informed" reactions from either side of the argument.

Actually, you do not have to work for the Vatican in order to translate ancient texts etc. All you need are some credentials. So far i have found none, not even from his official site. I think it´s more or less promoting a new book.

Hi OP, currently travelling so cant watch currently.
It sound interesting and am really looking forward to it.

To read passages, text and scripture in its original context, should definately be a pursuit of anyone with an interest, whether religious, schloarly or historical.

I have no doubt he has found many things that are not published in "real" Bibles.

I have translated some of the Bible from Ancient Greek and, even then, found many dissimilarities and inconsistencies.

I can definitely see there being much more content (which has never been seen by modern intellects) in the original Hebrew texts.

OP, thank you for the video. I already watched all 6 parts. Some of the things he said I already figured out by my own research, but it was an eyeopener anyway, it´s great to hear someone else speaking about things you always wanted to know! (Cain and Able) I had a argument with my teacher in school long time ago. He could not explain the "why"!

firstly according to the bible there is only 1 god. So from the get go your logic is flawed. second there is no debate about spirit in fact the only thing we need to discuss is the LITERAL translation which is what the video and thread is about. I dont know why you would bring up points that have nothing to do with the video unless you are confused as to what you are seeing or you are trying to derail the thread.

I wanted to inject the personal ideals of those who are believers of God and the like., Many do believe because of some external experiance that they cannot explain. Either supernatural, super coincidental (no such thing as coincidence, jewish law) or other external and or internal experiances. Either drug related, death, relationship, further involvement. So those individual experiances aren't shared online due to criticisms and the like.

all of what you said has nothing to do with the OP or the video. The OP and video are discussing the literal translation of the OT. NOT who or what god is. If the OT translations says that the OT god is a flying spaghetti monster then thats what it says. Unless you can translate ancient Hebrew and prove categorically thats NOT what it says speculation and conjecture of what YOU think the nature of god is has no bearing on anything here. In fact all it does is make an already complex topic even more convoluted.

I think the problem is that biblical translations are almost always done through faith based organizations, that will indeed shove in their desires for interpretation to justify their lifes faith

You want something to be considered legit, let a group of scholarly atheist skeptics investigate and do a literal translation, then you know they aren't trying to push any one viewpoint down anyones throat.

In saying that, of course alien visitation makes more sense than some sort of king ghost deciding out of the entire universe, this tiny backwoods planet in a fairly mundane medium sized galaxy is super special.
