Was an aeroplane responsible for a mystery huge bang that shook houses across Grimsby this evening?

The Grimsby Telegraph has received calls from Laceby, Scartho, Holton-le-Clay and Wybers Wood after residents heard a "deep thud" just before 7pm.

At first it was thought that there had been an explosion, possibly on the Humber Bank, but it was quickly confirmed that was not the case.

strange... why would a plane do that over this aera. am in grimsby and did not hear it and grimsby/cleethorpes is a few miles form the north sea (i know where near the humber but thats a river)
people are saying it was raf or just a normal passenger plane as we have humberside airport few miles form us... but we also have raf faldingworth a weapons test site test site...
has any one got any info on this as yet or thoughts ?

I'll never forget the first time i heard an airplane break the sound/speed barrier.. It literally sounds like a bomb.

The USA used to have fighter pilots break the speed barrier over Oklahoma City to test the effects of sonic booms.
Many windows were shattered, and many houses shook. People complained for months, apparently so much so the USA suspended the tests.

just heard some loud booming noises like in some other videos, i am North Gothenburg

I've had someone say it was a small earthquake and had been reported on sky news, it was Conoco, it was Biffa (gas canister in the shredder)

Explosion on the oil refinery was reported on the Daily Mirror and then swiftly taken down.

i havnt heard anything, (clee) There was a jet of some sort that flew over here earlier but that was around 3ish i think, It was low enough for me to stop mid sentence and run to window lol, couldnt see it mind, could have been another jet,

But with the way things have been going on lately i dont even wanna know lol

p.s There was an earthquake 90km off shore near plymouth at 6.30pm tonight.

I reckon they could be test-flying some new stealth fighter over the North Sea or something!

Man, this takes me back to good old days of UFO Magazine in the 90's, when the possibilities of the New Millennium were all James Bond-styled stealth mega-fighters! You can imagine the articles!!!

Hi friend, do you happen to remember that big blast in Wales the other year. I'm sure it was down that way...
But some facility just went up. It was in the news for about a day or so, then.... nothing.

If UFOs/Military test planes are involved, maybe such things are being hidden in these places, and the so-called "facility" is an elaborate cover up top...

Could be the case here in England?

After all, a desert the size of the one where Area 51 is, would probably conceal this Island in a dust cloud!!!

people are syaing they saw 2 raf jets before/after the bang... the weird thing is that the bang was herad over one half of town (west side of the town) i would of thought the whole town would of heard it as seen as it shook some windows then again i dont know how sonic booms work ect... people also saying that theyve heard fast jets over the last few days. we do have donna nook near grimsby as well which is a raf range so could they have benn test flying the taranis ? www.baesystems.com...

I live in Lincolnshire next to the Humber Bridge and did not hear anything, just seen a news report on BBC Look North that had said there were some jets flying at the time but the Ministry of Defence has stated they were not responsible for the bangs.. so what was? Its still a mystery!

MOD say it definatly was not aircraft, as for civilian aircraft there are no civilian aircraft that are capable of going that fast since concorde stopped flying, i was i Grimsby and it was very very loud shook house everyone was in the street afterwards, not earthquake was to short, there was a military jet flying round for a little while after like he was observing something he then flew to wards Holtol Le Clay, i text several friends frim Brigg to holton Le Clay seemed to be loudest over Grimsby but was heard at Immingham and Holton Le Clay so around 19Miles.

Yeh I think that is the most likely cause. Would love to find out what theyre doing though, wonder if its got anything to do with the 'chemtrails' and strange cloud formations recently?

Perhaps it was a flying visit from our Friends the Russians, we are so low on military resources these days we probably had nothing to turn it back over the North sea.

Lets not forget, that there was a well-known base in Warton, near Preston, Lancashire, at which-- in the 90's-- UFO Magazine said we (the British) were developing Stealth technologies...

Now, a) the base is very well known,

And b) as a major power, Thatcher brought Stealth to the RAF via Reagan in the 80's.

They're both very well-known pointers.

My hypothosis, is maybe such bangs WERE such technologies either being used, or even malfunctioning?

Who knows, but lets keep our eyes on Doctor Who and Torchwood. As while I'm a fan or neither, their format is so far removed from previous British efforts at sci-fi and fantasy, its already been pointed out by many, their glossy format has used such sites as this for storyline material on more than one occassion...

So perhaps we'll get the psy ops take in the next series?

people of grimsby and cleethorpes keep you eyes to the skys... there are always jets passing over and doing things around here.. along with doona nook we are in prime place/times to see thing and hear things. only last year i saw a black helecpoiter flying over/round the cleethorpes cost.
