A Tip o the Hat to New Members

I feel this is a social issue.

This is not a kiss up thread by any means. For along time I saw a lot of our newer members not following the ATS posting guidelines. Some were even posting videos with no text. I often critisized these threads with complaints and rhetoric. I usually would claim their lil fingys must have gotten tired or exclaim that this wasn'r that kind of site like the one they must have come from. I won't mention the one I'm thinking of. Some how, not taking any credit for myself, that seems to have subsided a great deal. Thank you to those who have realised and given care to this matter.

Now I want to acknowledge the influx of alot of great new members again no names will be mentioned. I am elated to see so many of you pick up the pace around here and fly like eagles. You are helping this site soar.
I personally thank you all and you should realise who you are easy enough. Remember the members are the quality and speak the truth as you know it.

Totally agree with the OP hence the star, I've lurked for a few years but have only recently joined and have seen the quality of posts improve significantly over the last few months.

I think the only real issue left IMO is the lack of searching before posting New threads. I routinely see 3 or 4 threads on the same piece of news being repeated, sometimes on the Same Page of new topics!!!

You are right as well Rise. I guess the not searching doesn't bother me enough to notice it but you are correct.

its called having standards. nobody is "bemoaning" anything. if ats charged a 99 cent screening fee, the quality of posts would skyrocket.

Thank you for the sentiment, it's certainly quite a heady place to be a new member in too. It took a while to get the feel of the place, maybe a week or two but there are so many interesting things here that you literally just can't wait to jump right into the thick of it, instead of actually learning that you have this thing called an inbox and all replies to your posts go in there for you to see, for example....

Even in my short time I've met (and lost due to IRL death) and conversed with some wonderful and beautiful people here, along with the trolls, shills, sarcasts and rhetorists of course. The overall impression I have of my short ride here has been one of much information and also much love in certain topics. Whether it's Rant, Personal Relationships, Fragile Earth or other forums (think colony collapse disorder, cute kitty's or freed lab animals), it has slightly rebuilt my hope in the people of this world. Well, some of them anyway.

We will all most certainly die in the coming times, but whether that is in (possibly) December this year or maybe in another month and 30 years due to natural causes can be up for debate sometimes. Ah, the nice doctors are here again, I must go. Thanks for your post!

True. Adding a screening fee to filter the crap out will increase quality, but that will go the same for any site or forum on the internet. Everyone has to deal with trolls. It's just a matter of ignoring them.
