Maybe some people need to learn the difference between reality and what they see on Youtube.
If you see 100 more "strange sounds videos" on Youtube tomorrow - this does not mean that there are 100 more actual strange sounds heard and documented - it simply means there are 100 more Youtube videos.
And 98 or 99 of them are likely FAKE.

There are alot of 'sound' threads poppimg up these days as (apparently) there's been a spike in the frequency of these occurances. It does make it difficult to keep up with all the supporting info. It should be pointed out for this thread that the phenomenon is documented going back to at least the 1850s where widespread reports of mechanical sounds from the sky were reported by frightened people. So that pre-dates YouTube, HAARP and all the rest. Despite the hoaxes and disinformation that always accompanies strange phenomena it appears something is going on.

The truth is, there are LIKELY not more "strange sounds" but instead more "strange sound VIDEOS on Youtube" - which is a heck of a difference.

Note: While i personally believe that a small percentage of the videos/sounds is real, most are not and they are outright hoaxes. One possible explanation is that some religious "tribulation rapture" religious fanatics might make and spread the videos...
Ask yourself...if there are such loud, strange sounds heard over major cities like in Canada, you can bet the news would report it and THOUSANDS of people would be witnessing this too. Beyond that, I still don't understand why a certain portion of our society gets so upset over what other people believe.
If people say they hear strange sounds, and they were there and heard them while you were not, what's the issue to begin with?

Hi - Do you have any links to these reports from 1850s - I would be interested to read any

I suspect these sounds are real, as you obviously know, but they are a hoax. Advanced audio technology can project sounds. A large scale version of this technology could create 'creepy noises from the sky', part of the fear project that is supposed to have us all cowering and easily led.
Of course that doesn't easily explain historical accounts.
