The biggest enemy of America is the MSM. The battle against Wall Street and corrupt politicians is made harder by the media who carry their water for them. We are being told by the MSM what is and isn't important in an effort to control our actions. Whether people want to admit it or not, we are being programmed on a daily basis by the powerful entities that control the media.

Every major news outlet in America is controlled by this small group of powerful entities. All of the TV programs and movies we watch are loaded with propaganda to promote the group's agenda and shape our opinions. They are controlling our lives to line their own pockets and have been for decades.

The election season truly highlights this theory. Who doesn’t believe that these entities were pulling for Obama in 08’? The media put out 10 times more positive stories about Obama than McCain. This season, Romney has gotten a complete free ride in the media compared to all other candidates. Just look at the way they have shut Ron Paul out. They immediately labeled him a cook and a nut because these entities fear him. They fear any person who would expose their grip on our lives.

Here are some examples of the media control these entities have:

GENERAL ELECTRIC: Worth 157 billion in annual revenue, GE owns a large portion of NBC, MSNBC, 22 local TV stations and Universal Pictures

WALT DISNEY: The house of mouse, earning just over $36 per year, owns ABC, 277 radio stations, Touchstone, Miramax and Pixtar.

NEWS GROUP: This 30 billion dollar a year entity owns FOX, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, TV Guide, Barrons, and Smart Money, not to mention 20th Century Fox and HarperCollins Publishing.

TIME WARNER: Bringing in a cool $25 billion per year, Time Warner is the largest media conglomerate in the world. They own: CNN, HBO, Cinemax, America Online, TBS, TNT, Warner Brothers Pictures, and more than 150 magazines, including some particularly respected ones like Time, Fortune, and Sports Illustrated.

VIACOM: At a “mere” $13.6 billion a year, Viacom owns Global, MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Pictures.

CBS Corp: And rounding out the Big Six with an annual income of $13 billion per year, CBS owns, obviously, CBS, as well as Showtime, CBS Radio and book publisher Simon and Schuster.
link

Their reasons for wanting to control us are numerous and obvious. GE is deeply invested in the military industrial complex. GE has everything to gain from starting more wars so it uses its media outlets to promote wars. Time Warner has deep connection to the World Bank and other institutions that fund wars so TW profits greatly from conflicts around the world.

How do we, Americans, overcome this programming? How, in a free market, can we possibly stop this madness without infringing on free speech? How can a truly unbiased news source compete with the trillion dollar empire that controls everything now? Until the endless programming stops we will be fighting an uphill battle. Nothing will change as long as the majority of the population continues to be duped by these groups.

I agree the media is what misleads the population..

However I don't like the picture you have of a scope.. aimed at a person and an american flag? No one should be encouraged to take in violent behavior. Just saying that picture gives the wrong idea..

That is what the entertainment industry would call "the big 6", the six largest media corporations in the world. They literally control everything you've ever watched, Ever.

One more thing. Their profits are suffering greatly... 13bill? You think thats a massive profit?!

HAH!!!!!!!!

Look at how much the "big 5" of oil corporations made last year. Makes the medias profit look like chump change.

I wouldn't so much word it as they are the biggest enemy because the biggest enemy is the group in power. I would say the MSM is their strongest weapon against the general public. Agree with what you are saying though.

How do we, Americans, overcome this programming?

Turning the television off would be a good start. I still watch the damned thing but with a dvr I can skip most of the commercials which to me is 90% of the propaganda and most of what I watch is sports. Not a lot of propaganda there.

There are only two reasons to watch MSM news. Either to find out what the opposition is saying or because one actually believes the tripe they spew. Sadly, I believe the latter is more often the case.

The Plasmatics summed it up quite well: "The brainwashed don't even know they are brainwashed".

I disagree,

Public Enemy #1 is an uninformed and dis-empowered citizen.

The MSM has out stripped its ability to suspend our disbelief and they know it.

The gates have been sprung and all of us animals are standing around confused because the gates have always been shut. But not anymore.

Our Govt. and most Core State Actors (America, Russia, 'Europe') lost control of this train over a decade ago and have been scrambling to catch up; like chasing a steam train down the tracks trying to shovel coal in the windows to keep it rolling. Bad situation.

Things changed so fast that folks just do not realize they have changed.

We are free, run out of the gates, organize and go get some pizza.

Because the story you are telling is way to old to be relevant any longer OP.

We need a new way to story and narrate our predicament. Why are you hauling out a Best Seller from 2000?

I believe the picture represents the MSM’s aim at America and Americans. It’s not a call to action by me!

The “big 6” do control everything we see, hear and read. The scariest part is extremes they will go to achieve their goals. War for profit?? That’s sick by any standard.

I’m with you. I DVR everything and skip commercials. But how are we to get news without some form of media. You have to get your news from somewhere, and from what I can tell they all do the bidding for someone or some group.

It’s getting harder to filter news these days…

I use ATS. Works for me. I can learn more in a hour on here than a week of watching any MSM news channel. Sure, there's drivel here too but much less than the MSM. There are enough clips pulled from MSM that I get the gist of what they are doing, which is lie about everything.

Thank the Gods for the net.

You have to get your news from somewhere

Another poisonous meme.

No you don't. Says who?

I'll get it from the cereal box.

We all have to realize that we must become responsible for sourcing and vetting our own news. you don't have to get it from anywhere because it is every where.

learn to be your own best resource for perspicacity and discretion.

Sorry, the days of having your news delivered reliably from any where are long over.

We must learn to use our hearts. Which is impossible if Empathy and Compassion have been eroded.

We must protect our ability to empathize with others and have compassion as this will reliably direct our hearts.

easy.

We must protect our ability to suspend our disbelief. It is a one of our best tricks and should only be given to those that tell good and productive stories.

Sounds like some fringe, underground BS to me. Sorry!

Small pockets of subversive types aren’t going to be attractive to most people. The reality, though you consider it antiquated, is that people DO follow the MSM. The vast majority is uninformed and is still being led. That’s likely not going to change so my question is how to combat it?

I hear you, but ATS users are @ 0.0001% of the population. The majority of the population get there news from various other MS sources.

Obviously many people (people who read between the lines) get their news from many sources and try to filter it down to the truth. It's just getting tougher these days because the big 6 control most of the news out their. SOPA is an attempt to quiet the rest.

IMO the media is just a tool of TPTB. If you want to take care of the problem go for the root cause, don't go for their henchmen. The media is poisonous and needs to go though so you are right about that part.

That's OK. I can understand as things are happening very fast. I'll help out.

First off let's clear up the fringe thing.

Generational warfare theory was developed by William S. Lind and a group of military researchers...

The term was first used in 1989 by a team of United States analysts, including William S. Lind, to describe warfare's return to a decentralized form. In terms of generational modern warfare, the fourth generation signifies the nation states' loss of their near-monopoly on combat forces, returning to modes of conflict common in pre-modern times.
en.wikipedia.org...

Tactics and strategies come directly from models developed by John Boyd and his team of researchers, you know who '40 second Boyd' is right, seabag?

During the early 1960s, Boyd, together with Thomas Christie, a civilian mathematician, created the Energy-Maneuverability, or E-M, theory of aerial combat.
en.wikipedia.org...

See? Not so fringe.

Want some more? Or would you just like to go to the link?

Have a nice day.

OP your post is spot on. I'd give you a million stars but it wont let me.

Personaly I feel using a recorder to skip the commercials is simply fooling oneself, as op said, ITS ALL TAINTED WITH BS DISINFO.

I threw my tv out years ago and I refuse to even look at a newspaper. Without tv and the newspapers I find I live a much more relaxed life though I do find it much harder to tolerate those who insist on wasting my precious moments on this earth with their non stop drivel about soap stars etc etc.

Having a two year old grandson has caused me to endure some recent childrens programs on the tv and I notice even those are full of the same bs and even violence.

I posted this on another thread a while ago.
Television.
24/7 365 Violence Murder Rape and Torture, all in extreme graphic detail, pumped directly into your home.
A child starts life to the sound of screaming soap familys wanting to kill each other. A little older and the child can sit up and watch the violence and murder etc. A little older and the child has a television in the bedroom and gets to watch even more violence rape murder torture etc 24/7 365
And then!!! The TV companys have the nerve to suggest that we keep our children away from those nasty video games and...god forbid.. dont let them near... THE INTERNET!!!

I 100% agree with you, the msm IS the problem.

I have a question….

I know you want to get all this info you possess out to people but what in the heck do military tactics have to do with the OP, which happens to be about the MSM? What is your point?

I mean no disrespect, sir.

But if you look at it; you were the problem and the solution.

The MSM was just kinda there hanging out trying to sell you stories.

Mm

Thanks for asking. No problem...

Because it is about getting you to buy stories; and internalize them and live as though they are true.

The 'MSM is the root of all Evil' thing is a meme; a decade old meme. I believe it has been weaponized; which fits in to 5GW tactics as I will explain.

It keeps those that buy in to the story paralyzed as they think it is the truth.

One of the primary ideas around 5GW is that absolutely anyone can become, and is in fact by default an Effector...

Effector

The term has a history of use in various scientific and technological contexts, as well as a generic meaning to describe "One who brings about a result or event; one who accomplishes a purpose", but the term was adopted into 5GW discussion in order to distinguish between those fully aware of the 5GW being conducted and those whose actions cumulatively bring about a successful conclusion to the 5GW operations being waged but are merely co-opted players, pawns, or proxies unlikely to have more than a vague awareness of the existence of the 5GW campaign (if any)
dreaming5gw.com...

I hope you see that the point that I am trying to make is that, in 5GW? We have all been conscripted whether you like it or not. gotta get prepared.

You see? It is all that winning hearts and minds stuff but now put on steroids and weaponized for the new 5GW war...

I really, really hate to say this but all of this is old hat. One only has to look at nazi Germany(when radio and tv were in its infancy) Goebels understood the power of controlling the media. Okay, in Germany, he controlled the only output of in formation but the fewer the people controlling USA media the more likely they would form some kind of "club" to regulate the news output. All this stems from the lack of regulations of the media by the government. Of course the government does not these regulations because the media is playing their tune and as far as the media moguls are concerned they will always play the same tune because that's where the money is. There is only one way to stop this and that is strict regulations (Laws) to prevent monopolies or underhanded conglomerates from running the media. You are on to a loser in the USA as you all believe in market forces. Leaving the media or any other industries to market forces only leads to monopolies and conglomerates. Though from some of your posts an awful lot of you still don't get that.
