If Bush gets re-elected...?

Hey, I'm curious to know your opinion on this. Say if Bush gets re-elected this election and continues his reign of terror, what do you think the odds of him getting assassinated are. I mean I dont mean to be giving off any false connotations but it's obvious that he is really pissing people off. It's happened many times before, successfully and unsuccessfully. And if this is not the case who here thinks there will be some massive civil unrest during his next term. I personally believe that if he gets another 4 years (of war) we are definitly looking at something much greater than the 60s ever were. I dont mean to sound negative or anything but this is definitly a possibility if the Bush administration will continue.

here's the problem, you're assuming everyone on ATS actually equates the current war on terror to a reign of terror. in that belief, you're wrong. maybe next time you should simply ask if one believes such a thing, and then go on to ask if you believe so, do you think....assasination.

in any case, i doubt highly bush will be assasinated were he to win november. first, he's too well protected. second, and most important, the people he's "pissing off" are only terrorists and normal people who, typically, only have the guts to talk, not take action. terrorists would have always tried to kill america's president, it makes sense afterall, and they've failed up until now. as for the normal people, they're going to go as far as whine and complain, and no further.

I don't think he will be assassinated either. It's just going to be ongoing war with one country or another. More people killed. Maybe more civil rights taken away from U.S. citizens. Maybe a draft.
More protesting.
Just more of everything he's handed us already. Because once he is elected again he's going to take that as "Gee they love what I'm doing, I should do more of it."
There will probably be a big scandal surrounding him during the four years. Something that can't be overlooked. He will probably end up being impeached. Just a hunch of mine about that maybe happening.

He wont be assasinated, and he wont win re-election fair and square either.
In any case, supposing we "elect" him. This would peave off the entire world, because by reelecting him it proves to the world that we want and support a criminal president. Up till now, world population hates Bush and government, not us, the general American population.
If he wins we will immediately go to Iran and try to murder another 30,000 of theirs. Do you think the world is going to put up with this?
No. And furthermore, since we elected him for another term, we will be scum too and we WILL be nuked, invaded and blown up into bits. And its not going to take years, either. All of this will probably come down in 2005. Policing the world is our thing, but even our "allies" wont put up with the whims of the American dictator.

If he gets re-elected we will have to deal with four more years of economic down fall and deal with it. Somebody else will come alone and fix the mess.

Guess what If other countries have the balls to nuke the United States there putting a gun to their own heads and pulling the trigger.The US can blow up the world many times over and they would not hesitate to do just that if these Phantom countries try to "nuke us"

It aint going to happen they might as well blow themselves up no one can win a nuclear war with the US.

Please put down your nobel prize in economics and take a look around. Bush inherited a melt down from Clinton who in turn benifited from Bush Sr. He also had to deal with a major terrorist incident in the US. Given where the economy is at this point the next 4 years are looking brighter than ever. BTW, my 401K is up quite a bit and is at a point higher than it was in the Clinton Years even taking out the contributions I have made during the Bush Admin. Unemployment is improving as well. To place the blame on Bush may fuel Kerry campaign rhetoric and work his hard core supporters into a frenzy, but its "Simpleton Economics" I like that and I may coin it

If the US attacked anyone with our nuclear arsenal, then We ( the whole world) would be dead. Not just one of these "Phantom" countries you speak of.

Not true most countries in the world cannot launch a nuclear attack that would destroy the United States. Its a very small club and Russia is at the top of that list. You think Spain could destroy America in a Nulcear war?

what do you think the odds of him getting assassinated are? Nobody thought 9-11 could happen... Bush could be assassinated be a terro group the odds of it happening seem low. I think that Bush wouldnt be the sole target of the terrorists global leaders could also be targeted on american soil and of course in there home countries.

S'cuse me Snoopy but Clinton turned around a failed economic program that started with Reagan and continued with Bush SR. We had a huge deficit when Clinton took over and we didn't have it when GW Bush came into office. Now we have it again. It kills me when Republicans talk about Demo's being in favor of big government and yet Demo's are the only ones who can balance a budget and stay within spending limits. Republicans say "charge it!".
No Bush won't be assassinated. But if he is re-elected then I agree with dgtempe and elaine, we the people will be seen as criminals supporting a criminal president and we will get more of what we've gotten already.
And Shadowxix, I really hate that kind of macho posturing about Nuclear weapons. Do you REALLY want to test your theory that we are better 'equiped' than our enemies. That we can blow them up 'x' times more than they can blow us up? Where do you live? How old are you? I am tired of posturing and sick of beating chests. I want PEACE for god's sake.

Oh yeah ShadowXIX....China has a huge nuclear arsenal...did you forget about them? They don't really like us and I'm sure they'd be happy to point their nucs at us, I think they already are.

I was talking about defending America from outside attack.''and we Will be nuked, invaded and blown up into bits' MAD did not die with the cold war. Im sorry its just the facts If any country attacks the US with WMDs they can expect retaliation in spades Its the way it is if you like it or not. I dont want a nuclear war but I rest easy at night knowing that if someone brings that kind of death to America they themselves will be destroyed.

So yes I would like to test my theory out. If somone launches Nukes at America I would want MAD in full effect.

We dont need to declare war on the Sudan but the world needs to put military troops there. UN troops but by the time they do anything everyone will be dead.

What do you mean by everyone will be dead? Who will be doing the killing?

This whole war could of been prevented if it hand't been for Stupid Clinton not giving the order to Kill Osama just because he might of risked killing a member of the Saudi Arabian Royal family.

African Union is about to deploy 4300 troops to Sudan, so that should make a difference hopefully. I really wish the EU would get off its arse and do something when stuff like this occurs. Even Australia offered peacekeepers and the EU is still sitting around.

There is a genocide going on in the Sudan right now. I thought thats why you threw that country out there. Muslim militants are wiping out whole villages.

I would have lots of respect for the EU if the EU stepped up and helped out in the Sudan. The US forces are spread out right now and I dont know if they could offer much troops.
