Everyone nowadays blames big government for everyone's problems. Big government is full of government employees, civil servants, that don't make a lot of money (average yearly salaries and little to no glory).
Federal employees earn higher average salaries than private-sector workers in more than eight out of 10 occupations, a USA TODAY analysis of federal data finds. Accountants, nurses, chemists, surveyors, cooks, clerks and janitors are among the wide range of jobs that get paid more on average in the federal government than in the private sector. Overall, federal workers earned an average salary of $67,691 in 2008 for occupations that exist both in government and the private sector, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data. The average pay for the same mix of jobs in the private sector was $60,046 in 2008, the most recent data available.
These salary figures do not include the value of health, pension and other benefits, which averaged $40,785 per federal employee in 2008 vs. $9,882 per private worker, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

You're taking the stance that it's a problem their getting paid more fair wages with benefits compared to private industry.

I'm not taking any STANCE. I am merely stating facts. I have no opinion on those facts. As Joe Friday allegedly said "Just the facts, 'mam". Survey after survey shows that the average government worker far exceeds public sector workers in BOTH salary AND Benefits.

In a country with millions and a world with billions of people it does take a lot of organisation to make things work. Wither or not corporations are good or bad, they are here because they work. Yes there is a lot of problems with them but they are providing a roof over you head, power for the lights and food on the table. They are not working for everyone, but are an important part of every city.
It was a role of government to look after the issues where money created too many conflicts of interest, like law, justice and promotion of standards. With the power of creating money taken away for governments, the ability to overcome the influences of money in decision making is diminishing and looks all together lost in some situations.
