Obama czar proposed government should 'infiltrate' social network sites, chat rooms, message boards.

klein.wp.wnd.com

Just prior to his appointment as President Obama’s so-called regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein wrote a lengthy academic paper suggesting the government should “infiltrate” social network websites, chat rooms and message boards.

Such “cognitive infiltration,” Sunstein argued, should be used to enforce a U.S. government ban on “conspiracy theorizing.”

Among the beliefs Sunstein classified as a “conspiracy theory” is advocating that the theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud.

The find comes as a government document reportedly relates the U.S. Department of Homelan

Have any of you see the commercial that has a man asking a little boy if he would like a pony and he says “yes”, so the guy gives him a toy pony. The guy then asks another child if he would like a pony and the child say’s “yes” and the guy clicks his tongue a few times and out from behind a wall comes a real pony. The first boy gives the guy a inquisitive, disgruntled look. And the guy responds to him, “You didn’t ask for a real pony!”
Here, we have the socialist Cass Sunstein telling us what we want. And telling us that the conspiracy sites are all bad, yet not disclosing the administrations true desire to stop the freedom of speech, or anything that would cast a shadow of doubt or suspicion on them.

“Some “conspiracy theories” recommended for ban by Sunstein include:
· “The theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud.”
· “The view that the Central Intelligence Agency was responsible for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.”
· “The 1996 crash of TWA flight 800 was caused by a U.S. military missile.”
· “The Trilateral Commission is responsible for important movements of the international economy.”
· “That Martin Luther King Jr. was killed by federal agents.”
· “The moon landing was staged and never actually occurred.””

China’s Google prevents the Chinese people to find out what is really happening out in the world. The North Korean media also censors what it wants it’s people to read and hear. And Cass wants to use their censorship as a paradigm for the “new internet.”
He wants to have the NWO, TPTB or Illuminati (call them what you want) spies infiltrate these site and attempt to discredit the contributors with ad hominem remarks or out right lies. Then they inject their nefarious propaganda by either making positive remarks to the contributors that may also object with the OP or by inserting some logical fallacy.
No apologies here but by studying the symbology in their avatars, they seem to stand out like a sore thumb.
We are asked if we want a free internet and guess what the guy is going to give us.

Well, I don't believe it! (said in best Victor Meldrew accents for the benefit of the Brits!)
A friend and myself were just commenting earlier this evening how we have noticed a massive uptick of new people appearing here on ATS and other forums. Now ok, people will join forums, and yes given that this year is 2012 I suppose we can expect it especially on alternative news sites.
But what we have noticed here on ATS is that all these 'newbies' said in the nicest way, seem to all orientate and appear on the same sort of threads. In other words, a visible uptick of newbies just on one thread, and then a whole pile of other newbies on another thread. OK I might be reading too much into this, and I am sure somebody will come along shortly and slate me with statistics or some such....but I don't know...just seems weird to me.

It's bad enough with these guys hanging around here, now we have Obama's goons too?

Who are we kidding, we know darn well the White House already has some carefully placed keyboard puppets helping spread the good word.

I know exactly what you mean. About two months ago or so, there was around mid-400 members logged in at a time. Now that number never seems to drop below 500 and more and more commonly reaches the 700 mark. Maybe I just need to put my tinfoil hat back on, but I am a little suspicious. I'm not the oldest member either, but I do sure notice the change.

To most people anything with a WND in in the link is not a real reliable source, nothing but a site to sell right wing fear mongering literature.

Really?
Really!
You want fear mongering ( typical logical fallacy )?
Then read Cass Sunstein's paper yourself.

Here is a direct "fear mongering" quote from the socialist, Obama Czar himself!
" Those who subscribe to conspiracy theories may create serious risks, including risks of violence, and the existence of such theories raises significant challenges for policy and law."

I don't subscribe to anything, I read all sources and form my opinion from there. I have been on this earth for a half of a century, and have served my country, the stuff I know would scare the conspiracy theorists, however their blind following of a few talking heads scares the hell out of me. Common sense is lacking in a lot of what is on this board, however, it is often a very good news source. When you realize we are all going to die, you quit being afraid.

Actually thought about this for a minute, and does the name Tim McVey ring a bell, I do believe he was a conspiracy theorist. I believe he was executed for his crimes. I also think there was a lot of info on the shooter of Gabriel Giffords being on this website, as well as the manifesto of the shooter in Norway, please provide some info rebutting the facts that conspiracy theorists can be violent.

well, as I always say - "show me the money"

there's no doubt in my mind that its possible, probable, and may already be happening - but in reality - they're not serving any useful purpose

am I convincing you of anything?
what makes you think they will?

this sort of propaganda hurts us more than an actual "puppet" would - it puts us in a position where we restrict ourselves from saying what we want for fear of being accused of "working for them"

do I think there are disinfo agents? probably
do I think they succeed in their mission? only on the feeble minded

educate yourself
Make up your own mind
don't blindly believe ANYTHING
in the end it won't matter, you'll still believe whatever fits into your previously existing philosophy

no amount of punch and judy can change that

Oh OK I'm sorry for my poor joke

may I ask if you think "the conspiracy theory is crap", then why are you on an 'alternative' forum? I appreciate there are a lot of factual and generally interesting magazine type contributions here which are far from conspiracy, and that you feel strongly enough to voice your opinion based on your experiences on this particular thread. But I too am 50 years old, but unlike you my life has been full of, for simplicity, shall we agree to call them 'signs' which had no proof, and even to me I thought were way off beam, but given time these 'signs' came to pass.
I guess what I am trying to say, that if you had lived my life and I yours, would that make either of us wrong?
I wish you many rainbows

I propose that we infiltrate the Obama administration and make the kind of transparency they promised happen whether they like it or not.

Maybe they already are?

Of course they are infiltrating and have been for some time. Is there anything they haven't infiltrated over the years? If you read the remarks and posts on various forums they stick out like a sore thumb. They always have the dumbest things to say to throw off the the subject or the chat. Just remember while they are watching us we are watching them. Who knows maybe we will win over a few converts.

You had me up until that.

This guy is clearly fascist-oriented if he thinks government should observe, censure and control social/political discussion. It's not really socialism if his aim is for more power in the executive against the population.

It has always amazed me how quick those on this site default to calling others shills. This thread is just giving an excuse for the word to be thrown around even more.

I would welcome the White House staffers and drones on ATS.

Their arguments are weak.
Their positions phony.
And they invalidate themselves.

I say bring it.

I'll rip 'em a new one!
