Is this a Nature Spirit,or what the heck?

Where i live,out in the African Bush,i have witnessed on many nights,this strange and intriguing phenomenon..A thing flies.no STREAKS thru the air,usualy at incredible speed,bout 30-40 meters above ground level,trailing a "contrail" of flame behind it..ive seen it take off vertically once,with the flame pulsating like a booster as it went up.When it to the usual altitude,it went horizontal,it shot off at great speed again.Anybody ever seen anything like this? By the way,i was sober on each occasion,and im not a druggie.There,s no way to be sure of its size,but i can roughly estimate from the distance i saw it,to be the size of an Parrot,or even a bit smaller.

A picture or video would be nice. To me your description does not sound "supernatural" but sounds more like a man made device. The US military has a great interest in Africa and has stationed many troops there. More troops are slated to go early spring. Maybe you have seen a drone?

No,not that,too big,i see fireflies all the time.This is definitely bigger.

I get the sense of it being organic,not man-made.I dont think there,s troops stationed in South Africa tho..but if im wrong about that,i would love to know..i hope not,any American interest,specialy military, in a place where i live,would cause me much concern.However,where we live,there,s definitely no army of any country present.It seems to come from and return to the small private game reserve which borders our yard.

Well I am originally from Burkina on the west coast of Africa.I am a first hand witness to this phenomena when I was still back there.No definitely not a firefy,also no military weapon as it is usually seen in villages and my country is not that advanced in military technology.They are usually seen as the manifestation of spirits or witches . Oh and for the pics even if any was taken it will be blank.Africa is full of mysteries!trust that......

Good luck on figuring it out. I saw a huge pulsating orb once. It appeared to 'breathe" some fiery plasma into itself as it brightened and you could see the luminescent plasma-like substance get 'sucked' back out as the orb dimmed.

My thingamabob looked more "organic" to me too. Like it was alive. Peace.

Hmmm I was going to say a salamander(not the reptile), a djinn or drake....drake might fit, but the other two are very much smaller than a parrot.

Yeah,i did look up salamander and drake..drake seems to come closest,but as another member said he saw it in Burkina Faso too,and the drake is more European/Scandinavian..According to legend,if you see a drake go past,you should shout "Half and half!" and then it will drop half of its loot for you!

This isn't exactly what you refer too, but it is an orb with a deer. The deer doesn't seem to realize it's there.

size of a Parrot...?

well the UFOs i seen were about the size of those 30 pound brown Pelicans which live alone the East Coast of the USA

but because i witnessed these objects (aglow from? the mercury vapor street lamps?) at night ...say 10-PM...
i considered them at the first moment to be gliding OWLs... that are known to 'glide' at night


your OP account was interesting.... with the 'trailing'...err - residue? that followed the objects trajectory.


sometimes our brains add stuff (like the contrail's that followed the flight path of the objects seen)
because we do not want to be completely clueless,,, so a familiar 'trail' is created in our brain to make sense out of the anomolous objects...
and creating the thought that these points of illumination are not just 'parrots' ...but perhaps bottle rockets


something that our mind is willing to accept -- without all the appropriate visual inputs.

Hi,thanx for the input.What first alerted me to the existence of this thing,however,was the orange "flame"..as i sat in my lawn,a bright orange flame caught my eye,streaking over the big tree i was sitting by..so the flame "contrail" came first..then the realization that it was generated by a living creature..i have heard people speak of very small UFO,s-fascinating.

Course i hace a cell..even in this country you get dirt cheap ones,even the poorest in the settlements have em..dont mean you can do much with those,tho..and as for th pc,not that i owe you an explanation,we saved up for,and its not exactly top of the line either..this has anything to do with an idea what this flying thing is? Cus thats ACTUALY the reason i posted this thread,and not to defend to anyone why/how i get to have whatever possessions i own,or dont own..

Was it an orb you saw. I have seen them before up my way they are very beautiful but I dont know their origins...
