Homeland Security and Atlanta police want to know who spray painted a swastika on a duplex in DeKalb County.
Police believe the home on Hosea L. Williams Drive is vacant. Someone used blue spray paint to create the symbol.
Why is DHS investigating the spray painting of a swastika on a supposedly vacant home?
This type of vandalism happens pretty regularly and is usually directly toward either minorities (blacks) or those of the Jewish faith, and attributed
to either neo-nazis, the KK, or stupid teens.
Usually, the police investigate. Sometimes the people are caught, and charged with vandalism, sometimes a hate crime, sometimes they are not caught.
But for DHS to get involved???
The police have always done a good job (
#sarcasm) at investigating and charging on their own, so here's my take:
This type of act, whether intentionally "hateful" and purposefully intimidating, or not, is now, due to the recent classification of certain domestic
groups (including citizens), both dissenting and peaceful, including others that are not, as TERRORISTS. So, not only do we have the TSA encroaching
onto our highways, bus stations, and trains, we have the DHS encroaching onto our local and state jurisdictions because ANY type of subversive
behavior or action, regardless of intent (including peaceful, constitutionally protected acts, of which this is NOT), is now a terrorist act.
And the federal government, on "protecting" us from these terrorists, is now seemingly infiltrating every facet of state and local government.
WHY?
Why do we need DHS to investigate an act of graffiti?? Or is there more to it?
Sure, the federal government loves to stick its nose into every facet of our lives, and have a hand in local and state, under the guise of the War on
Terror...And this is surely not another "training" exercise.
It's just another tiny brick in the every widening wall of big brother. Pretty soon, DHS will be a permanent face in all our lives, aiding and
assisting with local law enforcement on everything?
This is just another small step, that goes slightly unnoticed by most, of the ever-broadening and encroaching police state into our
lives...
