Mr Mcleod sir!

I was still awake at 5am and the wind was really picking up here in NW UK. It started gusting badly, so much so, my window made a terrific bang when a gust tried to open it after I secured it during Bowbag2.

I consider where I live to be fairly sheltered having lived in some pretty wild and exposed places in the UK. Were we due for an uptick in the winds too?

Winter weather is slated to return to New England and other parts of the Northeast beginning today.

Good job OP!

On the other hand, winter is really half over. No matter what happens in the next few months, it's definitely an abbreviated winter season and that's fine with me!

I hate to say it but the 2012 Farmers Almanac predicted the same thing... sorry

I wonder if the recently sprayed trails will have anything to do with that? I've seen an awful lot of activity in the skies, these past few days; especially, yesterday. Everytime i looked up....planes were flying by, leaving looooong streaks, in the sky; that completely changed a blue, sunny day; to a cloudy cold one. Now, friends are reporting snow? Hmmmmmmm....i wonder?????

It's WINTER! What did you expect? There have been many mild winters in the last twenty years or so. I'd offer my opinion that it has at least something to do with man-made global warming unsettling the rhythm of seasons, but obviously I've been brainwashed by The Man.

The onset of cold weather (just one or two degrees of frost in the UK, still quite gently) is actually a welcome return of the normal seasonal climate. Really, what's your point?

I'll agree... Funny looking cris-cross chem-trails errrr! con-trails, (whatever it's not natural), over the skies here in Portland, OR.
Try putting polorized glasses on and watching them for a bit. You will see a colorful rainbow/brown sheen disapaiting from these aircraft trails??? Like I said not natural and almost always before a major storm system arrives, which they are predicting for this weekend.

Happy Trails (pun intended)

I live in Canada, Quebec actually and I can tell you that we are getting tons of snow right now!
Snowed all day and snowing still, right now its -6 C which is normal based on my experience. Whether varies here during winter -6 is considered warm lol, during colder periods see -30 C and +, I've experienced -54 C. But its been like this all my life, some times its warmer, sometimes is extremely cold, in the warmer time we get snow!! Which is awesome if you've never experienced it

One day its warmer -6, the next -25C, happens around here a lot in winter. Honestly if another ice age would come around I could handle it. Its not that its cold, its that your not properly dressed
How many of you have snow suits, huge mits, neck warmers, -80C boots etc?...just sayin...

The earth is changing go with it, prepare yourself and remember snow is not so bad, check out how my ride rocks; maxsled.com...

Peace

Star & Flag to you yet again Mr McLeod

As you say it is all but a waiting game now to see how things unfold. I am really appreciative of your threads & their warnings, thank you as it gives me time to warn people and to prepare people also.

Oh this time I am going to the bookies and seeing if they will take a bet on UK wide snow too.

All the best Mr McLeod, thank you.

Hi OP, first post here, just had to register after reading your thread.

I was really impressed by those nice pics.

You were spot on OP!

You said that it was going to snow somewhere sometime, and low and behold it did, it is snowing somewhere right now.

Great job, from now on I will only come to you for my weather related business. Maybe for other stuff too.

You gave me a lot of extra time to prepare for winter, something that would not have been possible without you.

Anyway thanks again for this brilliant thread. S and F.

PS, ignore the trolls I´m sure that the great mod team here has means of shutting down any unwanted contributions.

I commented in another thread about the difference in this winter and the winters of 10 years ago in Spain. I said that upto now, when i go to work in the moring its 8º or 9º, while ten years ago it was - 4º or - 5º, and throught the day its not dropped below about 16º - 18º.

This morning, however, it was 3º at 5am. So i think that winter here's about to start.

The UK, by standards of late will also experience a bite, that will come as a shock to most. There is also the potential for Europe to be in a bit of a freeze later on, around the 20th January, which, if all other ingredients fall into place (speculation at present) could lead to a sustained colder period for the UK around the 20th-25th January.

Yes completely correct, no doubt about it, spot on.

Thanks again OP, S and F.

That´s a really good question, I wonder why the OP hasn´t answered that one.

So OP, that gust of wind that banged her window, did you foresee that? I wouldn´t be surprised, since you´ve been spot on sofar.

I'm guessing your the member CaptainInstaban? Although you'll claim not to be, your first post in here was regarding the "nice pictures" and the fact that you perceive this as a weather forecast...which it isn't...

If you are CaptainInstaban, its quite sad that you would re register as a different user just to post in this thread to try and bash it yet again...and if your not CaptainInstaban, you can take your sarcasm elsewhere because it really isn't appreciated here. If you cant see the point in this thread after all the other threads saying how unusual etc the weather is then you are a lost cause...

Back on topic...

Since i promised to provide some sort of update over the weekend, i doubt i will have much free time so i will update this thread later today. I haven't had much time recently to look at the models for the US and Europe but as many of you will have noticed, changes "back to winter" have already begun...

p.s. thanks to all the members who have remained on topic throughout and not slandered my intentions
