And what I mean by that is, you don't think your 'vote' actually counts for anything do you? Really?

I seriously can not wrap my head around how Americans (or seemingly, a vast amount of them [even the tin foil hat brigade, here on ATS]) actually think that our 'votes' determine the outcome of anything... let alone who the president will be.

Aren't you awake yet?

Geeze, I am awake now, thank you so much!
Care to elaborate or back up these claims?

Claims of what?

I'm just shocked that people still think their 'vote' determines the outcome of anything in the political arena, let alone who the next president will be.

I think the OP was referring to a small thing most people don't notice much, called reality. It's not just the US either, it's global.

You know, comrades," says Stalin, "that I think in regard to this: I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this — who will count the votes, and how.

That's another way of saying it. Hopefully a little clearer for you now.

It's not who votes that counts, it who counts the votes.

You are awake & aware................most people cannot believe TPTB don't play by any rules other than their own.

And your post I guarantee, won't wake any of the sleeping beauties in the Matrix up - they sleep and sleep deeply.

It's too painful for the average person to take that red pill. Once you do, there is usually no going back.

Watch the full length film, "The Hacking of Democracy".............the Bush Jr. elections and what a grandmother found out in Ohio.

It is my opinion after doing research that TPTB, The real puppet masters give the masses an illusion of choice but in actuality, they place into high positions, those they know that will follow orders.

Below is the full length video, I already bought it but went out just for you and procured the full length video on You Tube.

Votes in the trash..............If people see what is really going on there is no way we will continue to let this go on......

Most people see what they want to see. The reality of our enslavement is too painful for most to accept.

Read the following books:

* Was the 2004 Presidential Election Stolen?: Exit Polls, Election Fraud, and the Official Count by Steven F. Freeman

* What Happened in Ohio: A Documentary Record of Theft And Fraud in the 2004 Election by Robert J. Fitrakis

* Steal This Vote: Dirty Elections and the Rotten History of Democracy in America by Andrew Gumbel.

Hey man,

You know, I usually am carrying around the same sentiment with me most of the time. so I could not resist posting. I have thought the very same thoughts and I have also wished to express them as simply and elegantly as you have. You have sort of thrown down the gauntlet, there, my friend.

So if we can stay focused on the word 'awake' we might be able to get somewhere. Can we all agree from the outset that the operative word 'awake' simply means to 'wake' from the delusion that our votes count for anything having to do with who ends up in office? I ask because we are going to need an operative basis for discussing this. So, I think that is what you mean by awake, have I got it?

Good. So let's pretend we want to make this the last time we have to ask that question. We are going to get to the bottom of it right now, on your thread.

So, why do you think that it is like this, because I know your question was not rhetorical, and what kind of creativity are you bringing to the table in terms of a solution?

Thanks in advance.

You are most welcome.

I was not happy after seeing this and having worked with computers and knowing how powerful people "network" - how they arrange their connections to climb, just in a regular office where small positions of power were at stake, I could see this actually happening.

After reading many books and articles on this it is my own personal opinion that we, at least here in America - have no real say.

Locally you do - I know with my local Village my voice is heard. But on a national level where the stakes are very high - global power, sadly no.

TPTB have already decided who they will place into the Oval Office..............and he/she had better follow orders or they will end up like our 35th President.

Read my location. I did not choose this location lightly.

Give the masses, the slaves, an illusion of choice and power in the election process and you keep the natives happy and under control.

Most people are too busy, too distracted and too lazy to delve into this.

Again, knowing that you are living within a system where you are, at present, powerless is heartbreaking and maddening.

Grandma dumpster diving was interesting.................you would have thought they would have shredded the documents.

Well I`ve known this for some time now when the word on the street says one thing and the vote count don`t back that up.
I wonder just where it went wrong and how long ago. Seems it`s been like this for some time to me.

Other then actually taking the votes and doing it honestly I`d like to see a realistic cap put into the amount of money it is to run. Just because you don`t have millions shouldn`t stop you from being heard and running on a even platform not open to be bought..

We have lost no scratch that. we have been robbed of our way in more ways then one it seems.

Before this really gets rolling I would like to offer that referring to people as 'sheep' and 'slaves' and that sort of thing is right up there with the group think referred to in that 'Namaste' thread. It serves no one to refer to their fellow human beings as sheep. If you must go ahead but grab a hand held mirror while you are at it.

Of course every vote counts for something. Every single vote. Each one counts for the consent of every individual that places the vote. Each one symbolic of our willingness to let this crap continue. So they count for something, alright. It is a giant tar baby and we are all stuck to it.

What shall we do about it?

That vid truly is sickening to say the least. The whole "chad" debacle was an embarrassment. What I want to know is if what everyone is saying is that there is an outside powerful group of elitists control everything globally and voting does not count anywhere in the world and if there is proof of this. I do realize that the bankers have an ENORMOUS influence on who gets elected but to what extent I do not know.

Read the book: Deliver the Vote: A History of Election Fraud, an American Political Tradition-1742-2004 by Tracy Campbell.

You are most correct in your suspicions.

I did not for this thread use sheep. I did use the word slave and yes, in my opinion we, the common man/woman are slaves.

As far as sheep. Most people, do not read political books. Most people are so busy, so distracted, so over worked, (if they are now lucky to have a job) that when they have a few extra hours chill out by watching mind numbing programs, playing their video games or reading Twilight or Harry Potter type novels.

Most Americans are sheep..................I worked with sheep and they are dumb. They will walk right up to the slaughter house doors compliantly.

They don't really think too hard or too long on important matters.

They like to eat, sleep and procreate.

I have been heavily researching into social politics for 30+ years, both reading and watching the Senate and Congress Channels.

Most people vote party prejudice in America........it's easy, no research - just vote like dear old dad did.

And yes, most people in America (and elsewhere - England too I think) are sheep and slaves.

Read Charles Fort's novel "The Book of the Damned" it was written in the early 1900's so it's copyright is now over you can get the book here: www.think-aboutit.com...

I agree %100. Hopefully after this next election people will realize. This country is not ours we are not in control of it. I would even go as far to say that even if we could trust the voting system, its not accurate when more then half the US population does not vote.

I can reach out from where I am sitting and touch all four volumes of Fort.

If you take a look at it you will find your self to be more effective if you can get over that 'sheep' and 'slave' thing. I noticed that you threw a 'we' in there; that's a good start.

P.S.

Just for fun; if you take away all that stuff of the body, what is deluded (not awake)?

Oh...

I also collect quotes:

The men the American people admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest most violently are those who try to tell them the truth. – Henry Louis Mencken

There is a power so organized, so subtle, so complete, and so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it." - Woodrow Wilson

Whoever has the gold makes all the rules - Unknown

Now if you doubt what I am saying, watch the movie and read all the books I have listed.

Than if you are so inclined start researching on your own.

Simply do the research.

The reason we here in America are facing living in a Corporate run Police State is because again people just are too busy, too distracted and too dumbed down to take notice of their freedoms being snipped away from them slowly inch by inch.

Two more books everyone of you that really care about America should read are both written by Naomi Wolf, "The End of America" and "Give Me Liberty".

Put down that remote, that cell phone, that Vampire novel, that Xbox and start researching into this matter.

Look, just to model an example of eating my own dog food, so to speak...

I would like to offer an alternative. You think it is that simple? 30 years of research has told you what is essentially a meme? See how your sheep-calling has separated you from understanding? You cannot divide us all up in to sheep and non-sheep; you being a non-sheep. It doesn't work and makes you come across as smug. Worse, you miss the truth.

What the greatest majority of human beings are doing is loving one another as best that they can. They are working hard to express their love to those whom they wish to bestow it upon and those that have it coming according to assorted fealties. That is what is happening. regardless of whether or not you would like to see it that way. They are trying their best to love one another and no one is in a position to judge how another loves.

So that's what they are busy doing. All of them. I don't meet any 'stupid' people and I am sorry that the overwhelming majority that you meet seem that way to you. They are all just doing their best to love.

What do you think of that?

By the by; saying what I have said you might be tempted to throw me in the 'namaste' bunch. That would be a wrong assumption. I am actually pretty toothesome. You can see the teeth right there in the picture.
