US Navy: Iran Fishing Boat Rescued From Suspected Pirates

American forces flying off the guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd responded to a distress call from the Iranian vessel, the Al Molai, which had been held captive for more than 40 days, the U.S. Navy said Friday. The Kidd was sailing in the Arabian Sea, after leaving the Persian Gulf, when it came to the sailors' aid.

I like this story. It shows that even though the U.S. and Iran are at each others throats, they will still come to one another's help in a emergency situation. I think maritime law states you must answer a SOS call if your around the area, but I'm not to sure. It's still a nice thing to do for the civilian Iranian fishing boat. This is a little good news considering all the bad news thats been going around . Maybe this will ease tensions a bit somehow, but I likely doubt it. After all the U.S. Navy helped a civilian fishing boat, It's not like the Navy answered a SOS call from Iranian navy ship
