about 12:05am New Years this morning 2012, 2 orange orbs appeared very low on the north-west point of the island, rose to high elevation, moving west.

One of the orange orbs was low, I am estimating a few thousand feet below the other orange orb.

What was so strange is that they both moved at the equal distance from each other, once they got to the west direction they flew off into the horizon and dissapeared.

And then the exact same thing happened again... 2 orbs rose from the north-west point of the island, rose to high elevation, moving west for a couple minutes then dissapeared in the west.

No possible way these were the same 2... Me and 5 of my friends looked at these orbs.

My friend is actually stationed down there right now. He caught a picture with his phone. Low quality... but I thought it might be worth posting.

Some pictures would be great. Everyone has iPhones these days. Why no picture?

Edit, I spoke too soon.
Looks odd from far away,
Helicopters maybe?
Did the objects make any noise?

Probably Chinese Lanterns launched as part of NYE celebrations.....I saw loads here in the UK, even the neighbours sent a couple up.

Well, if both pairs rose from the same spot and drifted together until disappearing... lanterns.

Op: Here is how I know. In each pair, the highest one disappeared first, right?

This is getting to sound too coincidental to ignored.

Did it at all resemble this?

Exactly like that Tampa video, a mixture between light orange/yellow and a more mid/deep orange (but mostly the lighter color)

And no, they are not chinese lanterns because they traveled an estimated distance of ~100miles in about 2-3 minutes.

And besides that I have never heard or seen a Chinese lantern in Cayman.

No, the lowest dot dissapeared fist.

They were bright orange, very high in the sky, but still a very big size... The glow/auro of the orange lights were estimated 100 times the size of the 'glow' of a typical Airplane flashing light. (trying to put it into some sort of perspective)

We had cameras, but I was in shock/trying to figure out what they were/telling myself no, its not a UFO... so I did not take a picture.. it was a denial thing.

EXACTLY what I saw! Only 2 of them just like that, exact same sighting. Except, I am betting he was positioned in 'West Bay' because that is the only land mass they were over until they went flying over the sea only.

His picture if indeed taken in West bay, is taken at the lower altitude before they got very high

That video that guy posted looked like a fake...

Nothing paranormal...

Maybe not a fake to the guy filming it... But it was deffiently a prank or easily can be done. Since when did aircrafts have things that burn like a candle and go out and back in. Get real....

A constant light would be more believable... Like, do you expect aliens to fly here powered with candles as a light source??? LOL, I mean seriously.

What I saw was steady. They did flicker right before they dissapeared in the West though.

Cayman is home to the deepest waters in the globe... seeing the light rise from low altitude makes me start wondering about a lot of things

The same thing gets posted every year here on ATS!

It was New years eve last night!.....it doesn't matter if you've "never heard of Chinese lanterns before"....it doesn't mean other people haven't!

Orange orbs = Chinese lanterns.

simple.

An ATS member from Charlotte NC mentioned seeing two red orbs a few days back, maybe there is a correlation between the sightings?

or maybe you are seeing lanterns..

Not all of them are.

The only time I saw them (there were two), they would illuminate and dim over a 3-4 second cycle. As one would illuminate, the other would dim, so they were synchronized.

The fact that a military helicopter (Blackhawk) arrived (with no lights on), then turned its lights on (including a searchlight) and started looking for them suggests also it was more than just chinese lanterns.

Be aware that if you say all orange orbs are chinese lanterns, you are implying that you know everything about the universe.

Hello, Just 15mins ago (10.30pm AEST) I saw two orange orbs on the east coast of Australia, 15mins away from Tweed Heads at first they were equal distance apart then one was slowly drifting away but still going in the same direction as the other, I drove home(2mins) to grab a camera) and even from home i could see one, i drove back to where i saw them but they were gone.
