This is so far from my preferred genre of music however ...
What I've always appreciated about this song is that it has this way of revealing the twisted psychosis of war ... and in a way helps us feel the the
the bleak devastation it brings despite overwhelming desensitization. We are so removed, so detached from the reality of war ... we treat slaughter
like its as a fringe issue.This song sort of pierces through that cognitive dissonance and puts the reality of the situation back into human terms.
Its interesting to see this song used in military tributes ... how the fierce anti-war theme is lost on some is beyond me.
