Siri Tells Little Boy to

www.nbcbayarea.com

For all the kind and helpful advice that Apple's Siri personal assistant gives out, don't ever catch it on a bad day, or it'll tell you off in ways your mother would not approve.

If a report from The Sun is to be believed, a demo unit for the iPhone 4S caught fire for telling 12-year-old Charlie Le Quesne to "Shut the f--- up, you ugly t---."

Charlie reportedly asked Siri "How many people are there in the world?" and that was the answer he got back. Together with his mother and the manager, they asked the demo iPhone 4S the same question and got the same answer back yet again. Nee

Im guessing another customer did this as a joke.
Happened in U.K.-
The U.K.version uses a male voice as the assistant. It appears the user name put in the device was changed to "Shut the f--- up, you ugly t---." This resulted in the child being cursed.
Not much of a personal assistant with an attitude like that.

good point..if I could remove I would.
Its basically making fun of Apple's Siri personal assistant.
I would be really mad if there device said this to my child.

If it's from the Sun newspaper I would take it with a pinch of salt. Probably fabrication or just mindless reporting to fill pages.

It wasn't in todays issue though... Yes, I admit I'm sometimes partial to a read of the Sun

If you can make siri say these things, I'm not getting one.

Soon there will be people able to remotely/wifi/whatever to the thing and make it say this. So when your mom goes to say "navigate to" it won't load google navigate but instead tell her to ra ra ra ra ..

or is it just apple here?

"Navigate to the store" "Get off your ass and look sweetheart!" - No thanks!

Is far as I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) a customer made the phone say this. Easy to do as they're all on display. I don't see how this would be any different than if someone had set one of the laptops wallpapers to a picture of a butt. "Apple computer moons customers".

EDIT: If that phone said that to me, I'd probably laugh and buy one.
