IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz says airstrikes strategy is ineffective !

Benny Gantz, IDF Chief of Staff is all but confirming that Israel's air strikes on suspected rocket sites in Gaza are ineffective and a ground action is necessary to stop terror threats !!

Earlier this week IDF chief of staff Benny Gantz told reporters Israel could "not escape" a major ground incursion in Gaza aimed at rooting out the terror infrastructure in the coastal enclave.

Does this indicate an Israeli invasion is imminent ?

The IAF launched an air strike on a terror cell in northern Gaza early Friday morning as it prepared to launch rockets at Israeli targets.

It seems that two assassinations last Tuesday of of Islamic Jihad terrorists Rami Daoud Kafarneh and Hazam Muhammad Saadi Alshaker must have been "ground" activities.

Israeli intel must be good these days.

Both men had carried out rocket and mortar attacks in the preceding days and were reported by Israel's security services to be planning attacks along Israel's border with Egypt in the Sinai.

The IAF reported success in an air raid targeting a terror cell in Gaza preparing to launch rockets at Israel's southern communities.

Gantz's comments effectively confirmed that Israel's airstrikes-for-rockets strategy vis-a-vis Gaza has proved ineffective in providing security for the over 1 million Israeli citizens who live under the routine threat of rockets and mortars fired by terrorists at their communities.

Gantz said any such operation would be “quick and painful,” for Hamas and its terror confederates in Gaza.

I am not cheif of staff, but i do know that even with IDF presence in Gaza there were rockets fired at Israel. Of course,there is slight escalation in rockets from Gaza and it is inexusable, but military action will cause huge rise in number of rockets fired and i cannot see how it will change anything after the operations end,except people who will be killed on both sides.
If you want my opinion - it got more to do with new situation in Egypt then with Gaza.

Les get serious, if Israel stops receiving rockets from Palestinians(this may have been the case for some time who really knows), then they will go into Gaza/West Bank and fire them themselves, remember their motto "by way of deception thou shalt do war", ever since Israel was founded on its terrorist foundations they have been treating the Palestinians(christians/muslims/atheists alike) like animals, they've never wnated peace and certianly nothng has changed. Israel and its little dog America will keep bullying the world until the world fights back, unfortuantely I believe that is exactly what they want as they think they can beat us, but does that mean we lay down and play dead? Screw them

How do you stop them firing rockets? - go in and get them with tanks etc - ok but that is what Hamas wants, to be seen as the victim of Israel=Nazi so as to goad the rest of the Arab world into taking action.

Do nothing, grin and bear it - not much of an option, they tried that for a couple of years after they handed back the Gazza strip.

That suggests that Israel would have undercover agents acting as enemies.

Interesting concept.

Mossad might play a major role in that scenario.

Perhaps also, Israel would somehow be involved in smuggling the rockets into the zones.
