The 2012 ATS Challenge. End of the world, or not?

I used to believe, but I realise now that it really doesn't matter...either we all get wiped out together (and we ascend or not), or nothing happens. Either way it's completely out of my personal control, so why create negative energy thinking about it.

There is not one single thing in the long count calander that says the world is going to end or that anything is going to happen. An industry of crap has built up around it and much money has been made but all the calender says is that the calender is going to end. The actual experts have been drowned out and pushed into the background.

There is nothing in it.

All I know is if you fast forward Stellarium to the end of next year, the path of planets is pretty damn funky.

But the question is WHY is it being hyped? In my opinion, it is an EXCUSE for what is coming. It is a REASON that has been pre-planted for what is coming. It is to divert belief in God and His promises. The documentary due out later this year, on the supposed Mayan artifacts "proving" extraterrestrial contact, sums up the problem, reaction, solution methodolgy being employed across the globe by the powers now rising.

"Julia-Levy, for his part, talks about revealing Mayan knowledge of FUTURE CATASTROPHES, and "SHOCKING" wisdom that will TELL the world "THIS is what we have created on our planet, THIS is what's coming, and this is what WE CAN DO TO FIX IT."

See how gullible many are? They can't see that theory of evolution was promoted to destroy belief in creation and therefore God, then thinking could flow that if WE evolved then it's logical to believe life evolved elsewhere in the universe,( therefore all religious people actually hold antiquated ideas that make them stupid), THEN lights are put in the sky and the completely controlled media creates the stories of aliens actually visiting us....now, we are at the point that these aliens actually have always been with us and that they were probably our gods.....add in the entire mother Gaia worship and man made global warming and new age religions, and many people willingly will go along with the plan.

So, what are in their plans? Let's go back to the stage setting of the up and coming documentary on the Mayan/ET connection and look what they hint at....

Now i am going to say first off there is not a NEO on that list that has the 12/21/12 date anywhere on it but who is to say that that date is right on? hell maybe its off a year or two ya never know...but some of the possibility for impact on the objects we HAVE NOT observed recently are not exactly the most comforting of numbers. I`m not saying the world is going to end but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye on the sky.

I'm seeing claims about prophecies, but I'm not seeing any sources. Seeing as how your sources are quoting such people as Calleman and making false claims such as crossing Galactic Center I think it becomes clear that no such prophecies exist. There is a single mention of 13.0.0.0.0 during the Classic period. That is at Tortuguero Monument 6. While an early translation by David Stuart claimed this reference was a prophecy, better translations have been done that show this inscription was referring to a religious celebration that would occur on that day. From the post-Columbian period the only "prophecies" I have found associated with 13.0.0.0.0 come from manuscripts that have clearly been influenced by the beliefs of the Christian missionaries.

That you have described in a nutshell. It's not a world catastrophe, but a change in the way us puny humans think about one another.

So far, most comments are pointing towards a spiritual change. Not the christian "rapture" (GASP), but a subtle change, easing in slowly, about the way we view one another.

No factual information so far about a natural calamity befalling the world we live on.

You're right in that I think many of us see a spiritual change being the ultimate, lasting changes we all go through. Well..... We all START, anyway. How many are still among the living to see how those changes lead to better times is an open question I think we'll all be interested in seeing play out.

As I work on a larger thread for this topic...I'll throw this out. Yeah, I do see ENORMOUS physical and geologic changes on Earth and in the next 12-14 months. MANY will be killed and won't be here to discuss events next December. I don't focus on this though..because the physical upheavel is a short term and purely event driven phase. It's the spiritual side that will change our lives for millennia if this goes well this time.



You can wait for my thread to see more...or.unlike some teasers today...I'll at least throw out enough to follow the path I started down to get here. The Earth has seasons..any child hit with a snowball understands this very early in life. What it's taken us roughly 12,000 years to remember as a people is that the Solar System, Galaxy and Universe as a whole *ALSO* move in cycles and have seasons as well defined and as tangible as fall moving to winter here on Earth.

Look at what season were moving out of and into as a Galactic thing...and specially, where in those cycles our Solar System currently rests. The days are growing shorter...and Earth winter has nothing to do with that figurative observation.

Just for the record and for the eighty eighth time. Y2K was not a scare tactic or end of the world scenario. It was a very real computer problem that without at least a year of reprograming and working on the problem could have been a very real problem. It really bothers me when people liken 2012 to Y2K because they are not anywhere near the same type of thing.
Oh for the record, I think its just the last day of their calendar and nothing more. On the 22nd they will all be at the Hallmark store getting new ones with cute pictures of kitties instead of that Kubla Kahn fella.

Sorry fella, I've spoken and I've never heard any answer back. That is REAL TRUTH.
This is a new one for me though. I've heard many theories about 2012 but never that it was created to turn people away from God.

Well the solar system is currently moving away from the Galactic Equator and has been doing so for the past 3 million years. It will then be about 11 million years before the solar system reaches the apex of its oscillation. Then it will be another 15 million years before the solar system reaches the edge of the Galactic Equator. After that it will be a few thousand years before the solar system completely passes through the Galactic Equator.

While I'm all for the claim that the galaxy and the universe as a whole goes through cycles I don't think you can pinpoint these events to a single date. Many of these events take thousands to millions of years to complete and are based on ambiguous guidelines at best. Even Jenkins' planetary alignment has been going on for a few decades and will continue to go on for a few years after 2012. So I fail to see how the Earth's position in regards to the other planets, the galaxy, and the universe has anything to do with 2012 at all. When dealing with the distances involved the Earth has pretty much been in the same position for the past hundreds to thousands of years and will continue to be in pretty much the same position for many years to come.

Y2k could've been a game changer. It wasn't. Same, I believe, with the hype behind 2012.

Ohh so sure op, why you never know...Sometimes the universe throws you curve-balls, and maybe just maybe it will be the end of the world.

But I would not worry tough, life in its many forms in this wavelength, or the others will go on.

But no 2012 is not the end, it's just the beginning. The end is yet to come from that point on....But for some there world will end that year.

What's the point?

If it really is the end, no one will be left to gloat.

Nah, not ending. 4 billion years or so? Yeah, we're boned...
I honestly think this whole hype about 2012 and every preceding date before it is spurred by the fact that as a race we are closer than ever, due largely in part to 1) the internet, and 2) the fact that we can receive news across the world in an instant, and everyone is just taking part in this global fear of the unknown.
Look back even 100 years or so and what was happening on the other side of the world would take weeks to get around, by then it was the case of Chinese whispers, aka misinfo.
Humans are evolving, that is for certain, but it has been a steady process that has been taking decades, and will most likely take decades to come. As for some great global concious shift in who we are or what we are becoming happening in some great wave on a specific date in time, well you only have to read that sentence to see how ridiculous it sounds.
People are bored. People are frustrated, with themselves, and with others. They seek change without wanting to actually be the ones who make the change, so the whole "take it out of our hands" approach is the lazy man's answer to 2012. Change happens when you want it to, when you work toward it.

Have anyone here find articles about the Mayans or "our" mistake on interpreting their calendar or them interpreting the signs?
