Hey guys, not making any wild claims here. Just wanted to see if anyone else in the area saw what my father and I just witnessed:

At roughly 9:15pm I was standing outside with my father, on his back deck, finishing a cigarette. We were in the middle of a conversation when I saw two glowing red orbs (about in the position in the sky as normal airplanes) heading in our general direction. I stopped the conversation and asked my Dad to take a look. We both sat there and watched as these two glowing red orbs slowly changed direction to west to east. I kept thinking that I needed to get this on camera (pics or it didn't happen) so I ran inside and grabbed my itouch. When I ran back out they were far enough away that the crappy camera on the itouch couldn't pick them up.

Few things: there was nothing spectacular about this. The speed was around that of high flying airplanes. There were no sounds associated with the orbs. My Dad and I both have had lasic eye surgery so our vision is very good. Don't know that it matters but my father is 65 and a combat vet who's seen and been in all kinds of aircraft. The thing that made it a "ufo" in our book was the fact that there were absolutely no blinking lights as the FAA requires. They were simply glowing red objects moving across the sky. The second orb seemed to be gaining on the first, but hadn't caught up to the first yet when they moved out of line of sight.

Like I said, I'm not making any wild claims here, just want to know if we saw legit ufo's and if anyone else in the area saw what we did. Any ideas?

eta: The orbs were slightly pulsing and about 45 degrees in the sky.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I DID miss it.

I am presently out on Long Island, so I was nowhere near. I hope there were others in Your area on here that can shed more light. So to speak. [smile]

Well, when it happened my father went in to check the local radar via a program called flight aware that he had on his computer, but the site was down. I told him to google search something and he came to MUFON, where he reported the incident while I was making the original post. Neither of us are hardcore ufo people, we just thought it interesting. When I checked the MUFON website, there was indeed a sighting in NC yesterday of the exact same thing. Hmmmmm

Anyway, here's the link for sightings reported today, Dad's is the one titled "2 red pulsing lights changed direction, then went west to east, last one slowly getting closer to lead object." www.mufon.com...

The link might not take you directly to the sightings but if you just do a search for dec 25th only you will see it.

If you are talking about Dec 24 I also saw this phenomenon around the same time. Even immediately texted my sister who lives not far away off Providence. I was taking care of a dog and was off Fairview Road past Randolph. The owner of the home has a nice large backyard with tall pine and oaks, but this past year had them cleared out so visibilty was actually good with no leaves on the trees. Plus the ''orbs'' were as described above the treeline. I actually used my smartphone app Google Sky to see what backdrop of stars were at the point were they ''blinked out'' as I saw them.

Also, I saw Three (3) , not two.

They moved abnormally slow and towards the end seemed to me to stop completely. I thought at first when the first disappeared that they went into a cloud bank. When the third and last sat there ,, I really had the oddest sensation as I watched. Like they knew I was watching.
It disappeared, after I too went for binoculars/camera, but I did see it's point of ""Blinking out''' ....
It was directly North, right were Polaris sits.
Avid amateur astronomy buff. It wasn't Polaris, as I could see it.

To me the color was orange with maybe a tint of red. Solid. No blinking lights,, I just describe the 'disappearance of the objects as blinking out.
No sound. and from watching airplanes land for years,, I live near Douglas International on the other side of town.
I KNOW what planes looks like when in landing formation... This was not an example.

Military? Maybe.
Definitely different,,

Another note for honesty sake , I have had other, more extensive sightings / contact with ''UFOs" .
This was different, but not as much as my other experiences in strangeness quotient.

What side of town were you when this happened,, maybe we can get some triangulation going to determine where they actually were over at the time.

Wow, how strange is that? I posted with the hopes of someone else in Charlotte seeing the same thing but honestly didn't expect anyone from Charlotte to respond.

Amaterasu, it does help that others saw. I'm also glad I wasn't alone so that I could verify what my eyes were telling me at the time.

My sighting happened on the 25th. I was in the Plaza Midwood area off of Belvedere road. As far as the color, I had to rely on Dad for that one as I'm colorblind. I could tell they were glowing, but couldn't tell what color. These moved strangely slow as well but never stopped.

This is only my second "ufo" sighting. The first was very different and a couple of years ago. I simply saw an object move way up in the stars moving and then stop and make a 90 degree turn and fly off. Very brief and so far away it was only a dot in the sky but it was for sure an unnatural movement.

Did the glowing red orbs have a fireball look, like fiery red-orange flames licking all around it; with no fiery tail?

Thanks,

off the MUFON site posted earlier.. there are A LOT of 'red orb' postings... more than I thought there would be actually .. and a lot of orb activity going around.. here's one that I was surprised to read...

I walked out my front door this evening to go Christmas shopping and when I walked out the front door, I saw a large glow eye level coming around from the South of my house moving to the Northwest. It was moving parallel to the ground, elevation about 200ft above ground for about a half mile then going much higher in the air, almost straight up.

When I looked up into the sky in the direction it was going, I saw three lights evenly spaced in a triangle shape. The center light of the three was pointed to the North. At that point of time I opened the front door and shouted at my two boys and wife to come see this. By the time they got out side, their was between 8 to 10 more of these fire balls flying the same path. It was then I called (911) and spoke with the dispatcher explaining to him what we were seeing.

At first when I was speaking to him, I told him I didn't know what they were, then I said they maybe flairs, but I believe I finally told him that they weren't, after seeing them all running parallel with the ground and taking the EXACT same path, at the triangle light much higher up. It was as if they were flying into it. The dispatcher asked me what direction they were from what intersection. I told him and he said he would have somebody check into it. I spoke with him at 6:17pm. Haven't ever seen anything like this, and no more activity since this happened. By the time I had gotten off the phone they had all disappeared.

This was pretty exciting, and amazing!

The orbs looked as if they had a warm glow about them, but not fiery. If they were closer, I might have seen that, but they were very high in the sky. There was no tail to them either. It was surreal in the fact that it lasted long enough for me to think "I know what I'm seeing, but what the hell could it be." I stared hard and long and they just didn't make any sense.

Komodo, I was surprised too at the number of sightings reported on Mufon. There was even a "red orb" sighting in NC the day before on there, plus EarthCitizen23's sighting.

I wonder if all these sightings now are normal, or are we experiencing an uptick in sightings. I don't follow the ufo phenomena close enough to have a frame of reference.

It could be just the Rocket Rednecks from TV that used the wrong fuel to start their barbeque cooker.

ehhh, kinda close but not exact. The ones we saw were a little larger in the sky and they seemed to be moving faster than in that video. They were definitely glowing brighter than in the video. Starting out, when I first saw them, they were headed towards us (heading south). Slowly they turned to head east, but were never overhead. They didn't disappear from our line of sight as if they blinked out, they just kept going until they were beyond the tree line.

I went onto Mufon again and did a search from the 24th till the 26th, and there are quite a few red orb sightings all over the country. One in Chicago, one in PA, one in CA, etc.

It could have been Santa Claus delivering late to the Aleutian islands?

Another UFO crash. Or just another in a long line of atmospheric optical phenomena or a space launch. I'm perfectly stable in that it was not an alien craft of some sort. BTW why would an alien craft need headlights?

It's possible.... that you guys, could have had a visual sighting of a couple of Foofighter's [other-worldly craft,] in its landing or take-off lighted stages. The colored photons surrounding the starship, are possibly the fuel for the photon engine that powers the starship in the darkness of night.

Foofighter's,

No.... Really?

Come on now--- All your years, as a merc --- and you have never witnessed or heard any strange stories about UFO's. I'll bet, that you have a ton of UFO storys that you can tell us.

P.S.--- I know that this is off-topic, but have you ever met the late Carlos Hathcock; and I'm wondering if you ever ask his opinion on the subject of UFO's?

Thanks,

Erno86

I believe you, many of the crafts my son and I saw, my whole family were covered with a red light, very low flying, soundless, and under the light near our townhouse roof , where they often disappeared, a saucer. That one in particular was chased by a chopper. Our heights were low plane to extremely low, say just over 100 feet, hard to estimate. And would often vanish or else arc way up high. The size for us was around 30 feet or so in width or diameter.
