SEL5 URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 95 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 1055 PM CDT TUE MAR 20 2012 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS NORTHERN AND CENTRAL LOUISIANA EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 1055 PM UNTIL 600 AM CDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 35 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF EL DORADO ARKANSAS TO 55 MILES SOUTH OF FORT POLK LOUISIANA. Tornadoes cause one death, damage in half dozen states

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Tornadoes touched down in a half-dozen states on Friday, killing one woman whose mobile home was flipped by a twister and causing damage to homes and businesses, authorities said.

The 60-year-old woman died in Jefferson County, Illinois, when a suspected tornado flipped her mobile home and blew it across a road into a farm field, said county coroner Eddie Joe Marks. "A young boy had just stepped into his home when the storm hit. He got away with minor scrapes and bruises but went to the hospital," Marks said. The tornadoes appeared to be smaller and touched down only briefly as compared to a deadly tornado outbreak in the region early this month, authorities said.

Tornado watches until midnight. Got my NOAA online weather radio on. My terrified cat ran and hid under the sink in a cupboard. Listening to some bodascious thunder.

Looks like Louisville is getting hosed tonight. Gonna be a mudder for the Derby. Was out earlier this evening and had pop up thunderstorms, couldn't wait to get back and check my fav links and this thread,. Lo and behold you reposted intellicast. CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) ' The remnants of Tropical Storm Beryl spun off a tornado that destroyed three homes and damaged dozens of others near the North Carolina coast Wednesday as the system sped toward the Atlantic, authorities said.

Between 40 and 50 homes were damaged near Peletier in the western part of Carteret County, said county Emergency Services Director Jo Ann Smith. She said there were no reports of injuries.

Many homes suffered only minor damage, but three were destroyed when the winds came through shortly before noon, she said.

I don't know if I'll see a tornado, but I'm by Iowa and under severe weather alerts, as a line of severe thunderstorms is making their way through. Anyone else having the "I'm frightened, Aunty Em" moment?
