Militants explode five bombs in Nigeria

www.trust.org

ABUJA, Dec 25 (Reuters) - Islamist militant group Boko Haram said it planted bombs that exploded on Christmas Day at churches in Nigeria, one of which killed at least 27 people on the outskirts of the capital.

Boko Haram, which wants to impose Islamic sharia law across the country split roughly equally between Christians and Muslims, has escalated its tactics this year and increased the sophistication of the explosives it uses.

It's becoming a little disheartening, because these attacks will not implicate the religion in which these individuals believe, if UN resolution 16/18 has anything to do with it.

Future attacks of this magnitiude according to the resolution
will not allow for defamation of the religion even in context of how it's beliefs affect individuals behavior, let alone the carnage it induces.

Killing in the name of any religion is wrong...

Just for reference, last month they attacked a group of muslims while in prayer. They're faux muslims and this is well known. Though they claim Islam doesn't mean they're upholding it, which is kinda the point of that 'UN resolution'.

Boko Haram = Frauds

For the record, I haven't participated in any "carnage" and I don't know anybody who has. And I know a lot of people! Sounds to me like blaming Islam would be a mistake..

Do you believe these strikes are deliberately targeting a religion? Christians in general are in a bad way throughout the ME.

Christians killed in murderous attack

I'm not advocating pointing fingers...or blaming Islam for the attacks, but accountability to some degree or measure is needed...it doesn't help when we have groups who use a religious ideal to further their agenda. In the US law enforcement have changed their literature on how determining threats to National Security will be assessed. Hopefully this won't create an atmosphere of confusion and allow intelligence lapses.

Here is a great example of how this may effect Americans in the US...The thread below is recent as is the news it's self.

A sensative subject

Peace

Let me share with you all a little ditty we sang in the Marine Corps...

Burn the town and kill the people.
Drop some napalm in the square.
Do it on a Sunday morning.
When those people go to prayer.
See the children in the school yard.
See the teacher ring the bell.
See the childrens smiling faces.
as their school house burns to hell.

Might as well go on...

Throw some candy to the children.
Watch the children gather round.
Load a belt in your M-60.
Mow those little #ers down.

A ditty is a song sang during formation runs to keep the team motivated.

With Love,

Your Brother

So predictable that this response would be written within this thread as if killing is justified because Christians have been guilty of atrocities. I am sure the members that died in the churches were part of this "Christian Army."

My post was in response to:

…but to wait for people to go to church to worship on Christmas…

..which is exactly what the US army does. They wait until the alleged "insurgent" goes to a funeral, or a wedding, and act like that was their only opportunity to strike.

I must have missed the story where 1.5 billion muslims bombed every church on earth..

I also must have missed the passage in the Qur'an that said "attack Christians because they aren't you"...

HOWEVER, I do remember the passage in the Qur'an granting passage AND paradise to Muslims, Jews, Christians, and Sabians who live their lives correctly...

Statements and mentalities like yours don't help ease the tension. It's the immature attention seeking conduct that perpetuates conflict in todays world.

This will never end.... it's easy to see... if they fail in one Country, they start again in another Country!!

They probably see Nigeria as an easy target to set up and start there trying to impose themselves onto the Christians or other people living there... after this, they will move on to another Country in Africa where they will topple the weak! It's already happened in Sudan, Somalia and i believe Ethiopia!!! Soon, if things aren't sorted out, they will turn all Africa into Islamic Continent!!

This will be very bad for everyone not just those living in Africa!!

Why do everyday people like you and me need to be involved in this? This is Religion against Religion yet we are in the middle of the conflict! We can't get away from it as it is on our own doorsteps too.... soon, if these Fanatics aren't kicked out of Britain or other European Countries it will start a bombing campaign!!
