As of November 14, 2009, the stones bear a variety of graffiti. Elbert County is funding ongoing repair and has installed two video surveillance cameras at the site.

Since it is technically county property, the county is responsible for any damage done to the site.
As the guidestones received more attention, vandalism began.

why would the county be funding survaillance>?? seems odd to me.

so along comes someone with some stone slabs leaves them there and its up to the county to protect it???


if this happened where i live the county would have no say .....let alone in forking out money to look after it.

My 14 year old son and I were bored this summer and decided to take the 5 hour road trip to the Guidestones to see what all the hubbub was about. There are cameras that watch the place. We just got there out in the middle of no where. In the middle of the afternoon. We got out of the car and approached the guidestones. A white van pulled up a full sized van. A man with dark sunglasses was in it. I told my son you stay close to me he could be trouble. The man set in that van just watching us. I said apparently he isn't going to get out until we leave. Which I thought strange because if I came to see something and some one else was there that didn't look threatening I would have gotten out and started my look around. We checked out the stones and after about 20 more minutes headed back to our car. He was parked on the far side of the small parking lot we on the other.

I thought maybe he would get out then but he didn't while we were putting on our seat belts the man backed out of his parking spot and left. I turned and looked at his back plate. It wasn't from Ga it was from S.C. which I thought strange if he was security since it's another 45 minutes to the line at least from there. I would of thought they would of hired security for Georgia if they hired them. By the time we got the car started and down the road to the main road there was no sign of the van. We headed back home to Alabama but it has always made me wonder why the guy with the sunglasses even showed up there if he didn't want to get out. It was like he was there just watching us.

If I remember right the land was purchased by the people that put up the guidestones. A book was left in the library in a town close by. Perhaps a sum of money was gave to the county for them to take care of the stones by this group of people.

how are they fake? they exists and people go visit them all time. you think someone wasted that vast sum of money to have the made just for a joke? im saying its the NWO or masons etc etc but some group of very rich people had that made.

The whole message is a clue. Not just the name R.C. Christian.
1. Pseudonym was purposely spelled wrong.
2. The dates left out
3. The languages used (and not used)
4. The set up and function of the Stones.
5. JAM on one of the stones

It could be that that all the words on that stone are pseudonyms and he just left one big clue to get you started (so you can see the puzzle)

The whole thing is meant to be solved...similar to the cicada puzzles people sleuthed on the internet.

But people are concentrating on who made it instead of the puzzle itself.

I guess we need to first understand it's a puzzle, similar to the Rubiks cube. All pieces must be solved separately but are dependant on one another to be compete.

At least that's my opinion on it.
