wow i can't believe you guys are still arguing this 9 pages later. i guess the first post was edited cuz i clicked the first link in the first post and it took me to this video on youtube www.youtube.com...
that clearly shows a bunch of millitary types saluting a rocket launch.

Anyone who thinks this is some normal rocket failure like the spiral in norway was supposed to have been needs to wake up, .

I don't really know if it was a rocket or not. It doesn't look like the other rocket videos I've seen. Timing and some features allude to that, believable theory. I just know strange sights in the Russia sky routinely get covered up !

Let's recap this potential cover up before too much time passes 1. MoscowNews.com reports a UFO over a region in Siberia - loud and glowing, hundreds of witnesses. Officials sent to investigate. Meanwhile a local news video comes out with interviews of witnesses. Official story line? Probably a meteor. Witnesses don't buy that story, though. 2. The UFO shows up a SECOND TIME! More witnesses. Another local video about it. I shared one of the videos above, but they are not as easy to find as they used to be. (Removed.) ---Meanwhile, a story about cat-like aliens in Russia tied to an anonymous YouTube video that wasn't recently updated, inexplicably circles the web...and takes all attention from this.--- 3. A month later, a video of an alien body circulates web, site near Siberia UFO. It is originally posted by the witnesses of the alien body (you can read quotes by them in RUSSIAN articles...story was mostly IGNORED by the west), and then picked up by other outlets...this happens with just about every single sighting. Not unusual. 4. A thread about the event pops up on AboveTopSecret.com. It is almost immediately shut down by a moderator, because AllNewsWeb was original poster of the video. AllNewsWeb is one of MANY outlets re-posting the YouTube video. AllNewsWeb wasn't the original poster, and in fact there was ZERO proof of this at the time. 5. I CANNOT FIND THE THREAD THAT WAS SHUT DOWN. I THINK IT'S BEEN REMOVED. They have outright removed or redirected the forum that shows their reasoning for shutting the conversation down. On top of that, they have 404ed AT LEAST two threads, in addition to that deletion (never mind a 404 trace), about the alien body. You can see the URLs in search but then they go to ATS' standard 404 page. A thread asking about why ATS is 404ing thing is not even showing up as 404 anymore, wish I had grabbed THAT screenshot!

Dude, the UFO simply doesn't look like a rocket, that's all - and I've seen loads of rocket UFO videos. I'm interested in the UFO topic. My point was the official story coming out that it was a rocket can't necessarily be trusted, as every official story coming out of Russia about UFOs really can't be trusted. I gave an example of a UFO that was clearly NOT a rocket or a meteor where this happened.

I'm so SICK of people who believe X, Y, or Z on ATS, who then have fun patronizing people who believe W. It's weak and ego-serving. And useless. That's fine to share knowledge and disagree, but some people really must have horrible lives and live in such deep insecurity on these boards... there's just no reason to make fun of someone who is open minded about UFOs and still doesn't know what this one in Russia is. First off, people were skeptical because there were TOO MANY videos, then people were certain it was a rocket... so tired of the same cycle of UFO phenomenon-denying. Yes, we agree the government lies about this stuff. But let's always take there word for it when we see a strange UFO. I'm sorry, but advanced military craft only gets you so far, so often - we've been seeing technology way ahead of 21st century technology in the 40s, and believing governments throw out alien/UFO red herrings to distract from military operations is a conspiracy theory all the same...

But go ahead and ignore my actual post and just use it as an opportunity to make yourself feel intelligent - or something.

That whole mist or cloud shell that follows the bright central object around is just too weird. That ain't no rocket. Kind of reminds me of some of the old UFO type images in those old religious paintings.

Thanks, Cusp, that's the best one yet. The viewers are amazed and amused but also discussing the 'Beauty' [krasota] they are watching. At one point the main speaker remarks, 'Khvosta nyet' -- there is no tail -- as they speculate on what it could be, like a comet.

Local press has stressed that they've never had rocket debris fall on top of them before.

On xmas day I was talking about the ufo's i had seen here, and a husband and wife told me they had seen one 30 years ago in glocester in the uk, they started to describe it to me and to my astonishment it was the same description has this one in russian, they had friends around and went to say good night outside, their friends had 2 children with them who were terrified and ran to hide in the car, they said it was about 35 meters above their heads and they could hear a feint hum from it as it slowly moved along in a straight line, so i'm forwarding this video to them to show them what they had seen all those years ago, well found brilliant!!!

Thank you for this nice story. I feel this is definitely a Higher Intelligence being transportation device, and you seem to confirm the story.

This just does not look like a rocket and official explanations do not feel right?

If this were a rocket, it would have a trail behind it. This thing is moving across the sky from left to right and it's cloud continues to move with the object. I really don't believe this is any type of rocket I have ever seen, and I spent some time at White Sands. Very unusual the way the cloud is circular and stays with the object.

As appreciated as all of the new thoughts and opinions on the matter are, the fact remains that it was just a rocket.

Just because it doesn't fit within the narrow margin of what your knowledge knows of how a rocket behaves, does not automatically make it something out-of-this-world.

Believe me, I'm not even the closest thing to a scholar when it comes to these subjects - I've just spent a lot of time researching what has been provided here on ATS with similar situations and feel that with this particular case there is nothing more to find of it.

Please don't assume I'm some schill looking to debunk an actual event, or just looking to debunk for the case of it. I spend hours a night going from window to window of my home, hoping to see something amazing like I remember seeing when I was a child. With where I live, I have a fantastic night view of the sky, and it makes my heart bleed every time nothing happens.

I want to believe, I still believe, but when presented with videos such as these that already have a very simple explanation, it does nothing to heal the hurt of my heart.

I'm one of you guys - I know aliens exist, I believe they do at least...and one day they may very well make their presence known. This is just humans doing what humans do, and to make more of it is just continuing the facade of Santa Claus and none of us are children. We don't need to keep lying to ourselves just to continue the tradition.

When the time comes, we will know and there will be no doubts to it.

Okay, thanks for the post - but why are you so sure it's a rocket? I watch tons of UFO videos like you and have seen lots of varieties of rockets. This simply doesn't look like that. I don't know that it's alien, haha, but I don't find the rocket explanation that great.

That's exactly my point.

Those of you who wish to keep insisting this wasn't something as mundane as a rocket keep falling back on that same rhetoric, that it doesn't look like any rocket you've ever seen.

Did the Norway Spiral look like any rocket you've ever seen?

Does every rocket look exactly the same?

Do two cars smashing into a brick wall at 50mph reproduce the same results?

There are too many variables in this equation to fall back on what you may or may not know to properly judge the situation. So if you can't properly judge the situation, take what evidence you do have available and work from there.

We have a Point A, the point of origin, a Point B, the point of filming, and a Point C, the point of impact.
The time frame from Point A to Point C all coincide with the time the event was filmed, ergo the object from Point A to Point C had to be the object filmed at Point B.

There, simple and all that.

The one thing we know with a certainty is that it is a real object, not CGI.. It is vitrually impossible to render objects passing thru lens flare like that from different angles and still being translucent while variations in the lens flare itself (flickering is going on) Very complex to do.. (Believe me I know) And from different angles as well.. It would cost big money to have a rendering agent like that ... Hollywood level software... Not impossible, but expensive. that being said, it wreaks military.. Looks like a kind of seldf propelled illumination flare.

In that first one I thought I was looking at the Death Star for a moment then I started to think that perhaps I was looking at the moon wasn't sure what it was at first.

Also since I am less than 20 posts I'm sure one of you all may find this interesting, since I can't post it I'm sure one of you all may want to

The explanation is that it was the failed launch of an unmanned Soyuz rocket. The cloud/halo effect was caused by the rocket exhaust lighting up the clouds around it. It looked odd because the craft never got higher than the clouds, and later crashed. Rockets usually speed though the cloud layer in less than a minute.
