this smear tactic is working.
i hear lots of people talking bad about ron paul. lots of them listen to bill o'reily, rush limbaugh, and the rest of them yahoos.

when i try to counter their point, they get mad, raise their voice and ramble nonsense.

*sigh*

Actually, My Mom loved Rush and Glenn Beck until they started talking bad about Ron Paul. Now she rolls her eyes at them and recognizes them for the puppeteers they are. She is a recent Ron Paul convert, and she has always been a Glenn Beck fan, but then Beck showed his true colors in saying untrue stuff about Paul, and dramatizing tiny little details, and instead of Ron Paul losing a vote, Glenn Beck lost an avid fan.

These idiots better start sticking to the facts before they lose all of their support.

I'm trying very hard to talk my wife into cancelling our cable. There is no use for TV anymore, even the news is just over-dramatized reality TV. Is we want entertainment, we can rent DVDs or Netflix. TV is dying, and the news shows are killing it.

Ron Paul's Newsletters contain racism, facts.
They made millions on them, more facts.
His wife and family members were part of the business team on the Newsletters, more facts.
Some of his longtime close associates were business partners on the Newsletters, more facts.
He is on live video in 1995 touting his Newsletters as a source, which contradicts that he ever read them, more facts.
He voted against MLK day, on the record against Civil Rights, voted against Rosa Parks Award.... all racist evidence as facts.

You may not like those facts, but neither will the majority of Americans who are not fantatic Ron Paul Godhead worshippers.

You say all of these things but never ever give evidence of your "facts". I understand you might not like Ron Paul and that's fine but for you to jump around to every Ron Paul thread posting these things without any evidence is laughable. Provide some links.

He voted against all of those things on the basis of strict Constitutionalism. The majority of educated voters will grasp that concept, and the others are godhead Obama worshippers anyway.

He has won at least 4 elections since the newsletter story first broke. It doesn't seem to have been an issue. It has been explained away thoroughly for 2 decades.

Besides, even if the allegations were true, which candidate has fewer skeletons than Ron Paul? Which one has better solutions? Which one would be better for the country?

I hated Obama, but I still voted for him, because he was less dangerous than McCain/Palin. I don't have to agree with a candidate 100%, I just have to think they offer the country the best chance of success. Right now, that candidate is obviously Ron Paul. No other candidate is anywhere in the same realm as RP when it comes to real solutions for our economy, foreign policy, or individual rights.

He won those elections in a small Congressional District in the heart of Texas, where perhaps many hold the same racist beliefs or are conditioned to accept or ignore them. In other words, some would say Rednecks voted him in.

Those conditions do not apply to a National election for President of the United States.

It's naive of any politician to think they can enter the race to be the US president and not have their history raked through for any misdemeanor.

These news letters were always going to be damaging to Ron Pauls campaign. He may not have written them or even read them, but when the words come under the banner of RON PAUL then of course they are going to be linked to him.

Actually, I disagree. The country has changed. The endless war, the destruction of our core values, the whining squeeky-wheel pandering has all but destroyed this nation, and now the majority of the nation is more like Texas than California. Country Music is the #1 music in the land, and conservative values have made an extreme comeback.

I don't think that makes the country "racist," but it does make the country a lot more capable of honestly discussing one another's differences, and realizing there really are some differences that need to be admitted and embraced instead of pretending they don't exist. The country has evolved beyond the typical "racism" that liberals like to champion.

The country (black, white, and hispanic alike) is ready for a candidate like Ron Paul. But, don't take my word for it, and don't take the MSM word for it, just ask around, or wait for the results of the actual primaries.

If you believe that and got your way, it would be Obama going out in glory putting the final end to racism in America by symbolically slaying racism in the next election, because that is all Ron Paul will be painted to stand for as Obama defeats him.

Your wish will only make Obama an Historical National hero.

Obama proved himself equally a racist after "Beer-gate."

When he didn't stand up for the white cop just doing his job, he proved that reverse racism is alive and endorsed by him.

Does that justify Ron Paul's racism?

I voted for Obama and Bush in the past. I am whats called a swing voter. I vote for who i feel the country needs best or the lesser of two evils. I am also hispanic.

It looks like more and more I will vote for Ron Paul. Tired of all these corporatocracy bent bought and paid for by wallstreet politicians that act like they care about mainstreet. Tired of all these war mongers, all this politicians taking away our individual rights and how they keep putting our economy to the ground.

I see right thru all these ron paul haters on the media etc. It is so obvious they are scared of him because he cares more for real people rather then banksters and corporatists. Most of these Ron Paul haters are either blind and dont do their own research and just blindly accept what the media is selling them or they just really love living in a land DOMINATED by the corporatocracy.

Ron Paul and racism my arse. Thats the ONLY weapon they have to try and diminish him. Something that is so tired and cliche and has been dealt with over and over in the past. Talk about bringing up OLD NEWS.

They wait until he is surging in the polls. Figures. Happened before. What is it about "I disavowed them" and HE DIDNT WRITE THEM don't they understand?

besides HE HOLDs THE MAJORITY OF THE MINORITY VOTE IN THE GOP. GET A CLUE PEOPLE!

mainstream media with all this old dirt racism material is playing some people like a FIDDLE. Playin them good. The sheeple dont think! They play straight into that. Its really sad... really really sad. I feel bad for these people who believe that tripe. Its hard to believe we have people in this country that just accept what the media is selling without thinking for themselves. They just spit out what others want them to believe. Its very sad. Good thing that there are a lot of people who are now just starting to see thru this and are out smarting the media. This is where we have hope. The people who understand how the media just spits out propaganda and tells people how to vote. Good that more and more people are opening their eyes.

You, or anyone else, can't prove with FACTS that Ron Paul is a racist. It's innuendo, circumstantial, and it's a smear campaign by the status quo (how much do they pay you I might ad???).

There are however plenty of real FACTS that Ron Paul is anything but a racist. See the top thread on this forum.

All is not lost.
This coming election will be a litmus test on the declining influence of mainstream media. How far have they fallen? We will see.
The main thing us "alternative news media" folks need to do is get out the vote. Be visible. Wear your RP shirts, caps. Send Ron Paul gifts. Let's kill the mainstream media once and for all.

This will probably be the next thing, and it will hurt him with the people that get the "whole story" from headlines.
Paul talking about letters in 95

It infuriates me because he is just off-handedly talking about newsletters who knew existed and has never denied and they are spinning it as if is lying today when he says he didn't know the racist stuff was in there.
He knew there were newsletters and in the interview he never for a second mentions the controversy.

There was a time when two guys like Woodward and Bernstein could exist, but those days are behind us. The only hope we have left is the internet. I'm convinced they know this, and that's why they have to stop it. Whatever your feelings about Glenn Beck are, realise that he was forced off of the airwaves. If I'm right, the next one they will have to pull the plug on is judge Napolitano. The msm is the enemy of free speech.

Very interesting.

Where were all these kind0s of questions from CNN for Obama when he was running? Hmmm?? They were never asked, were they? Nope. No attacks on Obama whatsoever.

CNN, let's be clear - the American people know your agenda and can see through your personal attacks and are not going to be swayed. One of the photos looks doctored, by the way. Anyone have copies of the originals?

They think that if they can sway the black vote, that's all they'll need to get Obama reelected. Keeping in mind that Obama required a very large portion of the white vote to get elected. Also, isn't it interesting that we can say "white vote" and "black vote" and no one says anything, but you say "white _____" or "black _____" and the liberals scream racism?

And whatever you do don't slam Barry. They don't like it here and say it's 'off topic'. It appears to me that RP is fair game, but the sitting president isn't. Yeah, where were these 'journalists' in the last campaign?

The MSM is CLUELESS about the actual support of Ron Paul outside their little dwindling sphere of influence. It's crap like this that's forcing people outside of the MSM and why their ratings are in the tank. Propaganda idiots.

Before you go blaming Obama for it... Maybe it's fitting to look closer to home.

The politico article in question.

The media is chewing on the scandal bone. That's just what it does. It doesn't help that Mr. Paul does have a lot of positions that deserve hard questions, if not outright derision. But... MSNBC isn't the one saying "even if he wins, it doesn't count, it just means the Iowa caucus is meaningless" - that's mr. Paul's own party.

Well I guess it's a good thing that MSNBC only has about 15 viewers.

His own words, money trail and publications will be enough to bring his downfall.
Ron Paul destroyed himself, he was damaged goods that a lot of suckers bought up.

To the contrary actually, they havent destroyed him....theyve brought him more attention, and more people to support him because theyve actually been investigating him...

Theyve brought him more coverage, and actually his donations to his election campaign have RISEN since the media has started its war on him....

The GOP are scared of him because he doesnt tow the party line, and the Obama camp are scared to hell of him because they know he can destroy Obama, and steal his voting base because of his foreign policy.

Keep it up MSM.......we thank you

Spoken like the truly devoted worshipper.
When all is said and done, Ron Paul's percentage will equal the percentage of racist acceptance in America today.
