It's too early to make this sort of comparison.
Obama is the only Democratic candidate so he will receive ALL the democratic/liberal and left-leaning independent donors.
The right-leaning donors are still spread out among several candidates - not knowing who will be the horse to bet on.
If Romney is the final candidate after the primaries he will have ALL those billionaire donors in his side, not the 42 he shows now but the total
number of 85, versus Obama's 30.
But, even that can't be stated as a final number because Obama, being the only Dem in the race, most of his billionaire donors have yet to donate or
make their move (why should they, the race for the general election hasn't started yet).
It will end up like it does every election year, both Dems and Repubs will spend about a billion dollars each on the election and will have the same
number of billionaire donors.
It's a nice graph, but meaningless when one compares the sole incumbent candidate to the several challengers still vying with one another before
their primaries.
