1,100-year-old Mayan ruins found in North Georgia

Very interesting; I've often thought that there were similarities between the mound builders in the south and the Mayans. Also, this explains several unexplained discoveries in the North GA mountains. For example, when the spanish first came to the area, they found areas in which gold had previously been mined. I found this particular reference in a book by James Moony several decades ago.

Also, why is this in Introductions?

this is a hoax, the scientist that is quoted as being the discoverer has said that it is false...this story comes from the examiner after all...
