The Obama administration is out of touch with reality and the people to do this.

Doesn't it just come down to the fact that Americans wanted a lot of stuff, and they wanted it cheap. China saw the chance to make a lot of stuff for Americans to buy. Now both are relying on the other to keep the game going.

America needs China to continue to buy its debt, and China needs Americans to keep buying its exports.
The problem comes when Americans can no longer to afford to buy all that rubbish and China sees an economic slump. They stop buying the debt, America defaults, the $ collapses, China invades and takes the land to service the debt... Simples.

Why blame Obama? According to the USAID's own Web site, the program was established in 1961. Pretty sure Obama wasn't in office back then.

This is also from your source link;

Responding to lawmakers questions, Indian American Nisha Desai Biswal, Assistant Administrator for Asia at USAID, said America's bilateral programmes in China focus in four areas; assisting Tibetan communities, addressing the threat of HIV- AIDS and other pandemic diseases, advancing the rule of law and human rights and supporting environmental protection climate change mitigation efforts.

"These programmes have been and continue to be congressionally directed programmes. I believe, however, that they advance the values and the interests of the United States. They address critical development challenges that have regional and trans-boundary reverberations," Biswal said adding that none of the funds that USAID manages in China go to the government of China.

"Congressionally directed programs" - as in directed by members of Congress and not the executive office.

It's a 50-year old program, and more than likely it's one means by which we export American Imperialism to foreign markets. Should it end? Sure - but try to keep the blame where it belongs. I highly doubt Obama or any Republican president could wrest a program like this out of Congress' hands without a serious fight.

China hacks US corporations computers for trade secrets so they can bankrupt US companies.

They counterfeit US products. many they sell in other countries as american products and the US companies never see a dime.
Many american companies have been sued for defective products that were found to be Chinese counterfeits causing the companies millions in legal fees and investigations just to prove it was not there product but a counterfeit.

Based on what is known of attacks from China, Russia and other countries, a declassified estimate of the value of the blueprints, chemical formulas and other material stolen from U.S. corporate computers in the last year reached almost $500 billion, said Rogers, a former agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The losses from hacking from china is enough to put a lot of american worker back to work.

Here is one from the UK where they cost the UK over $43 billion in lost jobs.

Obummer can do it any time he wants with a little thing he has been waving around a lot, it's called an executive order. I am sure he knows how to use it since he has done so enough times AGAINST the interests of the American people.

And point two, not bothering to stop something while you have control of it, is endorsing it.

"Qui tacet consentit" - Silence implies consent. Politicians would be wise to remember that phrase as silence during treason, also implies consent.

Cheers - Dave

good points, but I seriously doubt that "land grabs" will ever happen again. but maybe so?
I don't think Americans would take a land grab sitting down, just on a local level. there would be a lot of angry peeps.

Sooo, a 50-yr old program becomes Obama's fault? This is a Congressional program, maybe Congress can do it's job for a change and fix the program or take a vote on it.
