i would like to start a debate on the ability to change laws for the benifit of the environment.
as the corperate world and its influence on the people is under the spot light,
i would like to point out that the environment has suffered the injustic of being seen as a resource to profit from.
instead of a live giving and nessacery part of symbiosis with the planet and animals of this world.

i would like to see an out reach to environmental groups for inspiration and collective actions to change how the world and the environment is viewed.
i do think that as part of restoring democracy to the people, and finacial independace we should also take note of the distruction wrought upon our earth in the name of greed.

one of the most important things we can do is share ideas and experiences with environmentalists as they have the most insight into the factors effecting the planet.

i am now asking for a list of ALL ideas and initiatives to be put forth with the intent to build an understanding of the wishes of the people from various Occupy locations and comunities around the country and world.

the ability of the group consensus and the working groups could be used to propose a list of fundamentals or principals that encompass first the spirit of the people, then their aspirations and then the proposed actions to take action that both aligns with the spirit and wishes of the movement.

i would like to propose that Occupy arrange meetings with the green party who has eligability to run a third party race for the upcoming 2012 elections, they already have a non corperate donation policy and i beleive with Occupiers as candidates the green platform could be broudend to encompass the core fundimental belifs of occupy.

as each Occupy location has grown people have become aware of their abilities to work as equals and their ability to enspire others, as the democractic process (social) in the encampments has moved forward, there are people who have shown themselves to be true leaders by being true to the people around them.
these are the people you want to represent you.

the people that gave of themselves for the benifit of all in their comunities, for to long the greedy and the people who want power have foisted themselves into power.

it is now the time to "elect" the best and most sincre to represent you.

it is now time to table the demands of the people and plot a course where our most trusted and hard working Occupiers become the voice of the people for the people in the houses of govenment.
we will change the laws of the land from the inside without corperate lobbying or big interests
a govenment for the public interest, not the private interest.

nothing can stop an idea whos time has come,
become the change you seek,
a better world is possable

these are suggestions only and ment as such,
i seek to inspire people to act for change in any and all means availiable,

this is not intended as an indorcement of the green party its policies or leadership,
i am mearly pointing out possabilities to be explored

Dear XPLodER,

Nice to see you again, and it looks like you've got the start of a great thread.

It's 5:30 in the morning here and I haven't had my coffee, so I'm a little greyer than usual. May I mention a couple of reasons why I, personally, would have some trouble jumping on board? I expect you've already thought out the answers.

My understanding is that the US is a relatively clean country and that a lot of our problems come from Russia, China, India, etc. Not to mention the hot spot that used to be Japan. So, if Occupy is world wide, why not concentrate on those areas? Although, Occupy China or Russia might not be good for your health.

I'd be reluctant to put the blame and the burden on the US, so how about going world-wide? I like that idea better, but I have no idea how to get the world to agree. They haven't done very well with global warming.

With respect,
Charles1952

i think the only thing that will work long term is for ALL nations and occupiers to work together,
at the same time world wide, there is enough work to do for generations.

well the general assembly idea helps the problem/idea/solution process along
and when co ordinated "live" world wide assemblies are broud cast we would be able to speed up the rate of comunication of ideas across vast distences over very short time frames,

what works in one place can be replecated very fast across large groups with support.
the idea that many locations can decide in a very visual way what the most pressing issues are and draw imediate concensus, and if achived an action can be decided,
if agreed action can proceed.

with lightning fast comunication and visual comunication, may things can be done,
we are in a new age of instant mass comunication and video broudcasting that is accesable to all.

interconnct vast groups accross the world to get consensus based decitions across occupy as a whole in real time.
