China hackers breached U.S. Chamber of Commerce: report

Hackers in Chinabroke through the computer defenses of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce last year and were able to access information about its operations and its 3 million members, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

In Beijing, China dismissed the report.

Time for some counter attacks by the western hackers. Cyber war has been going on for years but China has been doing lots and lots of it in Russia, Japan and the US... because there's lots of stuff to steal... In China, there's not much stuff worthy of stealing...

But seriously doing this kind of stuff ain't different from Chinese spies breaking in buildings and stealing confidential documents... which if that happen, the spies would be arrested and sent to jail for life and relations between China and the west would drop...

China committing acts of war against western countries... time for some payback.

Or even better, STOP DOING BUSINESS IN CHINA.

Couldnt agree more! If we were to stop doing business with them, it would CRUSH their economy. Forget cyber war, just pull everything out of America that has anything to do with China and put the American people back to work! Its very simple and I cant understand how/why our "leaders" dont do anything about it. Imagine the amount of manufacturing jobs we would have back here! Not to mention that half the China made JUNK isnt safe!

A lot of this may have nothing to do with the Chinese Government or the People's Liberation Army, in my opinion. China has a population segment moving into the hacker career field..for lack of a better term...and China is giving them a 100% safe environment to learn by trial and error against almost any target in the world, it seems.

As long as they don't do anything toward China or it's own infrastructure, it would seem the sky is the limit. I'd say that is the best environment one could ever ask for to produce some of the most capable hackers in history.....and it would seem they are doing just that.

The hits coming from China as a Government and Military effort are the ones no one here will hear about to run headlines on, I'm willing to bet.

I think the US probably hacks the Chinese back just as much, the only difference we don't hear about it.

given any decent hacker hides behind atleast a few proxy servers to help mask the start location all the IT guys have done is seen that the hack came from a IP address allocated to a organisation in china and put 2 and 2 together and got 67.

given the usa has a cyberwarfare division now surely it should be able to stop people knocking on the door and given no answer just pushing the door open and allowing themselves to ransack the place

Yeah and Russia, a Chinese ally, is making that up too? Please. The fact that this is being suppressed in the medias means it's happening. And has been for years. Talk to any internet security expert. (I've been in the ``computer world`` for more than a decade and I can tell you that it is real.

Even when they are basically committing acts of war like that? Really? I'm all for commerce with everybody but not with countries attacking you.

Well the Chinese government has hacking schools.

My thoughts on globalist policy love-ins such as the US Chamber of Commerce notwithstanding, why would China bother hacking into that organization?

What would be the benefit? Doesn't the Chamber, which is the country's largest political lobby group (who's biggest funding sources include Goldman Sachs, Texeco and the Aegon Group) already bend over backwards to push policy that will ensure us an abundant supply cheap foreign products to buy at the expense of our own manufacturing base????

Just askin'

these types of hacking seem impossible without an insider. ii'm not too adept but studied this field and considered getting my CEH license at one point.

Im curious... US Cyber Command has stated they will take hacking as a hostile act. Im curious if we are doing the same thing to the Chinese.

Anyone know if Chinese media has ever reported on US hacking their systems? Ive looked around and have not located anything.

No, we should put people like you on a desert island and just leave you all there. People like this is the reason why there is so much hate in the world.

It is not that simple. Why do companies go to china? You think that if these companies moved their work back to america , the americans workers would work with wages like china? The companies would lose money and most prob go under. They pay next to nothing with their work being located in china.
