Do you think they would go to New Zealand all the way from America? (If a post was that threatening to national security)
Just curious as to see how tight they are when it come to National Security.
Could they access you PC from theirs to delete or take content people shouldn't have such as photo's, videos or WAV.

Your thoughts please.

If thought a National Secureity threat, regardless of where you're from, they would have done their homework prior to confrontation. But confront they will...either peaceably or through force if need be.

Interesting question..and I'd recommend not trying a post threatening certain specific 'trigger' people to find out if they'd really react or not. It seems they wouldn't have to go "all the way" to New Zealand. We have an Embassy in Wellington, and FBI Liaisons are now, last I heard, in every US Embassy in the world.

So...You post a BIG no no, which prompts a call to a cranky FBI guy who just loves being at the end of the earth for career postings...and he's told to drop his doughnut and go work for a living by driving over to your place to have a 'Come to Jesus' meeting. Maybe..he brings a little party of NZ National Police (or your version there) with him...but it's only a short distance for the US to reach out and say Hi. Comforting, isn't it?

It's highly likely that they have alredy contacted me and I didn't even know it.

I have wondered from time to time whether a good upstanding citizen has been accused of Child Porn, Tax Evasion or what not and they use the individuals computer to implicate them.

But the Computer was previously hacked and the data uploaded onto it without the user knowledge.

It would be a way to get rid a malcontents/opponents prior to them really even being a threat to the PTB.

Just sayin'.

simple answer is YES, the long answer is when they get around to it there are other bigger fish to fry, than some one on ATS or any other "watched chat room" they know who to look for and where, it is the when you have to look out for.

I had a long and meaningful chat with the FBI at a time and place not of my choosing once, but that isn't the reference to my post on this thread. (That was over a major national case I wasn't a party to...and I was released without issue BTW).

My reference to what you're asking comes from the numerous articles over the past 10-15 years in media here about just what the reach is for U.S. Law Enforcement around the globe as it's steadily seemed to grow. I still am a little confused as to where FBI agents have business for more than a tourist trip in every nation we have an Embassy..but no one asks us little citizens our opinion on anything, anymore.

Oh..and there is the fact that the U.S. is pursuing more and more into foreign nations on routine criminal matters..... Trip their triggers for national security and you can be positive they'll at least drop by for a brief meet and greet to see if you're a raving lunatic or just someone who wasn't thinking before typing.

I really doubt that a FBI agent would think that being posted in NZ would think of it as the "End of the Earth". Their are better places of course...but a whole lot worse places to be stationed.

Myself? I'd love it.

But then again, the guy could be bored and sit there and think..."Finally! Some action!" You could be right.

since they haven't talked to me yet i'd assume not very far.

the only public agency actually doing any monitoring of western civilians is NSA, and i'm sure they can access ECHELON.

then again, you could have every spy agency in the world trying to gather as much intel on each other's civilian/military populations as they can before the next war breaks out.

They'd just get NZ's SIG goons to grab you for them ship you over I was surprised that NZ had a intelligence agency
I all ways knew you had goons just not any "intelligence" ones

SIG wiki page

The subsequent use of the group has been controversial, following the revelation in December 2008 that Christchurch man Rob Gilchrist had been spying for SIG officers on individuals and organisations including Greenpeace, Iraq war protestors, student associations, animal rights and climate change campaigners. News that SIG existed first emerged in public media in December 2008, when it was reported that an exposed SIG spy had spied on political parties and organisations involved in peaceful, environmental, animal and human rights activities. Subsequent articles reported that SIG had been receiving information on a variety of organisations including unions, contrary to a prior claim that only individuals were targeted.[4]

They look like rough customers I guess the whole world really is going to hell. Don't rock the boat over there my friend or they'll vote you of the Island

Oh I sure hope no New Zealand folk take that statement I made the wrong way. I'd consider being sent to work there as a real bonus myself as well. Of course, now if I were DEA or FBI, I would consider it a hardship discipline post for something I did to upset someone big.

After all, law enforcement is out busting people and doing things. I dare day, NZ doesn't strike me as a major hotbed for international crime and work for a typical U.S. federal agent. I'll bet it's downright boring at that Embassy for those types..compared to, say, Bangkok or Bogota.

Wonderful retirement post to end a career on though, eh? Now that would be a perfect spot for it.

Okay mate. I'm quite offended by that. We're not all ''goons''. Our country may be an island but we're not 15 trillion in debt, nuclear free, one of the least corrupt countries in the world, few major natural disasters a century, rich resource, good healthcare and education system. Our ''goons'' went to war and fought in WWII and WWI just like yours. Have you not heard the story about the ANZACS being ambushd in Galliopoli. It's pretty famous. Don't judge countries by stereo typing their people. I havn't said anything bad about America. Infact I might be going on an exchange there. Just think before you say stuff.

I meant that as in a nice way look at where I'm from some of my best friends are goons hell I'd classify myself as a goon and when we use to get drunk we would go off and do goonish things. I'm sorry if the kiwi definition of the word is different

Now back to my original intent the Secret Police in NZ where goon and will take your ass away if you mess with them PTB

Exchange where were you thinking of going
