My position is that if you are a voluntary member of an organization that espouses racist policies than you endorse those policies and are , by extension, a racist. Could someone that is a member of tha Nazi party make a reasonable argument that they are not anti-semetic? Mr. Romney supported the LDS church including financial support (10% tithing) which supported their racist teachings. Is that somehow innaccurate?

I do see what you are saying but I do feel the logic is flawed. From what I read in the article you listed in '78 the policy changed. I have no idea how things work in the LDS church but I assume for a policy to change you would have to have a large portion of the church wanting it changed? With out documentation saying if he was for or against the policy change we have no idea if he is racist or not. Maybe he was vocal in wanting the change we just dont know. You see what I'm saying?

I didn't state all people who follow Ron Paul were racists, I stated that white racists are likely to support Ron Paul.

Why would I state this?

Actually visit Stormfront (White Supremacist website), some strong support for Ron Paul there......

Ah. And which policies of his do they like, and do you disagree with these policies?

If you don't, doesn't that put you in the same boat? You aren't for border security, getting rid of inducements to illegal immigration? Those seem to be the matters at play here...just because someone may hold stupid or bigoted ideas doesn't mean they ONLY hold stupid or bigoted ideas, and the fact that they would support someone who espouses the few sensible ideas they hold doesn't really say much of any significance to me...

The way it works in the LDS church is this: The church believes that its leaders have a direct connection to God and that periodically they receive revelations from Him. This policy change came from God via revelation. So if that is to be believed, then we must assume that the racist policies were okay with God until 1978.

As far as Mitt Romney is concerned, we was an active member of the church from a young age when such policies were openly in-place and established in writing in various church documents (including the official book I cited). If these policies bothered Mr. Romney he could have left the church. But those policies clearly were not an issue for him.

years ago a close friend of mine introduced me to the Mormon church (she was a member). She provided me with all the key books (Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price) as well as sharing several videos. I've read all the material cover-to-cover (I've read most other religious 'books' as well). The one thing that most bothered me about the Mormons was the racist policies. I discussed this with my friend on numerous occasions nd asked her to get clarification from her chruch leaders but never got a satisfactory answer. Hence my bringing it up. I was told that Africans were not descended from 'our line' and hence had no claim on the afterlife.

One more reason not to vote for this swine.

None of the Paul-ites can say a thing about this and to undo forced segregation of the schools will take us back.

A leopard can never change his spots.

What's next, Coloured Toilets? Coloured Resturants? Coloured housing? Coloured schools?

Cowtailing with white supremacists is a no no and an automatic non starter for consideration for POTUS, I was actually considering endorsing him for the 12 GOP Nod but after seeing this he is done.

Thank goodness that you aren't a moderator then.

Yet another testament to the new ATS messiah, Ron Paul.

Cowtailing with black racists didn't seem to effect Obama much.

I doubt it will effect Paul much.

If you don't like all the attention Ron Paul is getting, why don't you create your own thread for the candidate you like.

I've been waiting to see at least one!

Ron Paul wants to audit the ferderal reserve and fort knox. No one else running for president has the guts to make that claim while campaining. He is also the only candidate that will openly speak about the corruption by TPTB while campaining. I will forever support Ron Paul.

Paul is a Libertarian .. he believes in Freedom, and that includes the freedom to not like people for any personal reason. White supremacist vote for someone you know, you'll find them on all sides, even under Obama ironically because most of the White Supremacist groups are neo-socialist.

He's against affirmative action, hate crime laws and laws requiring equal treatment by force of hand .. that's to say, a business can serve whomever they please.. if they don't want to serve you because you're black, Asian, Hispanic, Gay, fugly, Russian, whatever ... that's their choice.

You can make that out to being "racist" I suppose .. but it's more about Freedom, something you wouldn't understand since you seem to think we all need laws to force us to like each other. Maybe in reality YOU are the racist, since you seem to only function in society with the comfort of laws telling you that you have to like others, not that you actually do.

Finally, a logical and reasonable response. Thank you Mr. Freemason.

I like Ron Paul's fiscal conservatism, but the guy is too weak to be the leader of the free world. I know everyone thinks that's a good trait he has, he seems genuine and harmless.

But I would much rather have Ron Paul as Secretary of the Treasury, or even Vice Prez. We need a strong leader who will bully the ish out of all the lame duck congressmen and representatives. It has seriously come to ludicrous proportions.

The President is the Chief of the MILITARY. We need a man who understands the military, AND has a strong business sense.

Would you call a lawyer to come and build you a house? No. You need a licensed contractor unless you want the house caving in on you. This is why the country is currently caving in on us.

When you become a moderator someday, you can do whatever you want to my posts/threads.

But until you do. I will say what I want about Ron Paul in any thread that I please. If you cannot handle this, that is not my problem.

What's the reaction going to be on here when Paul DOESN'T win anything?

And FYI? I don't like ANY of the Rethugs or Obama. Don't even try to peg me with those.

I'm not making any assumptions.

ATS is consumed with the man, the myth, the legend, Ronald Ernest Paul.

If some had their way on here, people would be lynched for questioning him.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

He is just as racist as any white supremacist.

I don't judge Obama by this person, nor do I judge Paul by his.

They are politicians, they meet more people in a week than any of us do in a year. they couldn't tell you what most of them do, or how most of them think regarding most topics.

Part of politics.

Oh geez.

Let's see, the Ron Paul supporters can't handle the possibility of him being a racist so they beat the dead 'ol horse that is Rev.Wright.

I've never seen so much hypocrisy on this site.

Same old Tired republican dumb speak. "personal responsibility, look into it" I tell you what, look into google, into the number of red states with the most people on welfare and food stamps. You will find the more conservative areas have more "freeloaders". Dont lecture me on personal responsibility, lecture the. free market fascists and your corporate buddies who want a bailout every time their greed makes them miscalculate.

That's why I wish the red states would split off from the U.S.

It would save some people a whole lot of dough.
