Couldn't find anything in relation to this in a search.

Over the past couple of years, I have seen a LOT of advertisements on TV, Internet and posters on bus stops and other such instances, asking for you to "cash in your gold."

Then I started up on this site, and didn't realise the significance of Gold in the event of a total economic meltdown.

Does anybody else think that they are asking for your Gold so that you have nothing of use when the collapse comes, and that they will have all the Gold they need, to be in control?

www.cashforyourgold.co.uk
www.cash4mygold.co.uk
www.howcashforgold.co.uk
www.tescogoldexchange.com/
www.postgoldforcash.com/
www.cashforgolduk.co.uk/
www.puregoldbuyers.co.uk/
www.postalgold.com/
www.urbangoldmine.co.uk/
www.gold-traders.co.uk/
www.getcashforyourgold.co.uk/

These are only a small fraction of websites asking for your Gold in exchange for cash, which would be useless should the World Economy crash. These are only the websites, i'm sure you've all seen the Television ads, posters out in the streets etc. Not to mention there are actually stores built for specifically trading their money for your Gold.

Call me crazy.

Major LOL, Tesco are buying our Gold

Haha, my father is very keen on copper. He works as a general labourer, a very good one, he does road tarring, joinery, plumbing, bricklaying, all sorts, and he always comes home with thousand of wires, which he strips and hoardes the copper and other metals

most of those sites probably give you 10% of the actual value, if you're going to sell your stuff take it to a decent jeweller who'll probably give you a better price and if you dont like the offer you can walk out with your gold in your pocket

It's merely a nice moneymaker for the companies concerned. Sometimes life is that simple.

In times of economic collapse, soap and toilet paper will out-value gold and gems, food is also high on that list as well as clean water. There are many books on the subject, most have to do with the ravages of warfare.

I agree. However, Illustronic did make a good point. If it came to SHTF, I would be more worried about food, water, clothing, ways to stay alive.

Then again, if the SHTF and the Governments all owned the ways to create mass amounts of clean water and food, then we would need some way to obtain it from them, and they would have all the Gold to bargain.

Ok, well if that's the case, how come they popped up so fast, if it was that simple wouldn't of been going on for years and not just jewelers doing it, this literally came out of no where, almost feels like over night, and a coincedence right before the global economy is failing, also I did a who is search and one of them and it is owned by a saudi and he gets all the profits, so before you go sell your gold, make sure it goes into an american's or a business of your country pocket.

Illustronic is right, when I read that I thought the same thing, and so are you, the governments wouldn't take a roll of TP for water, they would want something of value. friggin scary

Exactly. Especially when pretty much ANTHING can be used for toilet paper

Just watch Bear Grylls, you'll know what I mean

You would need clothes, food, water and shelter. Yes, there are trees with fruit, and you could hunt, but most people wouldn't bother, and would turn to the leading Elite for food as they would control the machinery etc needed for mass production. Same with water and clothing. As for shelter, you could always build a nice little make-shift teepee with some sticks and tarp

It's amazing how much power they really do have over the world, its not just my country, its yours its everything, it wasnt until I started researching it and this website lol that has opened my eyes, look at the new bill passed, when the patriot act passed, the obama care bill, everything, there was nothing anyone can do to prevent it, I am actually scared of what will happen if the SHTF, we all should start stocking up now.

im not trying to troll or be a twat here, but dude ... did you even read the post, he is refering to the UK not the USA.

i understand that this is happening in the usa too, but this is clearly a post about gold buyers in the uk.

ATS is an international forum, not USA only ... please show respect for problems in other countries by not coming into threads and shouting about america when it is completly irelevent to the post!

on the gold buyers thing, this is happening as gold is at a high price just now, combine that with idiots who want a fast buck and people who dont know any better who use these companies not realising they are losing a crapload by going to these companies, and they should instead keep all their scrap gold , hell, even get it smelted down into one piece... but dont sell it, because gold is only going to get more expensive unless we start mining other planets!

They've had this in Germany too for a while, tons of gold-buying ads during the gold bubble, but it has significantly decreased now. Especially after it has been found out that the people behind the ads pay really low prices in comparison to independent gold buyers.

No, it's just a money making scam. Most people don't know the price of gold (which has shot up massively in the past few years) nor how much their gold items weigh. So they are easily conned into accepting well below market price.

the advertising budget of these operations - SHOULD be a massive clue that they are a scam

gold will only have any relevance - if a " total ecconomic breakdown " is followed by a " total ecconomic revival "

Far simpler than that; Companies such as Goldline International are simply playing to people's fear of economic instability to turn a profit in a material, the value of which has traditionally been stable. The gold companies are really nothing more than a pawnshop, specialising in gold and expanding their business through the mail system.

These companies, like pawn shops, will ever have a volume of gold significant enough to have "power" but more than enough to make a tidy profit with minimal effort.,

OMG on one of the main intersections for A1A and the mainland side there were two people with these signs.

The one guy I SWEAR he was drunk! The chick was dressed as an elf and it was just extremely weird. The people they get are just nuts here.

I dont want to see that on the side of the road! This guy was just out of it!

Since when is buying low and selling high a scam?
Who's fault is it if the public doesn't know they could get more for their jewelry?
There are tons of these places because there are tons of people who would rather have cash instead of jewelry.

As to all those who think it's some grab the gold from the public scheme:
Did you learn nothing from the French revolution?
The elite had everything including the gold. The people simply killed the elite.
