My first post was about how people were apparently ignoring that NASA gave (or "admitted") detailed information about microbial life on Mars years before your insinuation in the article you described.

It is completely on topic as it is about life outside of Earth.

Im not quite sure I understand what your getting at. But, honestly, I dont think moving to mars is the solution to a dying sun. It would have to be moving out of our solar system to a younger star. If we move to mars, we're just delaying the problem. However, if we become able to move between solar systems, then we will have conquered the problem of dying stars, atleast temporarily until theres no stars left

Perhaps Dr. McKay was misquoted in the Discover article, with respect to known life on Mars. Misquotes and misstatement of facts are not uncommon in journalism, the latter especially in science stories. NASA is still (officially) looking for signs that merely point to the possibility of life there. Ross

Well, they have admitted and never once attempted to hide the fossilized microbes they found from Mars.....

Which, I imagine is what they were talking about. Not intelligent life.

I do believe in intelligent life on other planets, I just don't think there is any on mars, nor have I seen an legit evidence of anything other than microbial life that used to exist. I would not be all that surprised if we found still living microbial life there one day though.

So for what that is worth.

What evidence do they have to assert such a claim about life on Mars that they aren't sharing with us (yet)? Hmm

Since when does NASA need evidence to make a statement
They goes make the press release.. and fix it later if its a bust. They been doing a LOT of that lately

Quite true...

Viking: The First Signs of Life?
Monday, Aug. 09, 1976

It was an electrifying announcement. At a hastily called press conference at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif, last weekend, Viking Scientist Harold Klein reported that the newly begun biology experiments aboard the Mars lander had already shown a strange process—perhaps life—going on in the Martian soil. Said Klein: "We have at least preliminary evidence of a very active surface material. It looks at first indication very much like biological activity."

The evidence that excited Viking scientists came from two of the three biological tests that had begun only three days earlier. One of the Viking experiments, designed to detect respiration,...

www.time.com...

And that 'Martian Meteorite' with possible nano fossils... They still are only guessing it actually came from Mars based on gases trapped in pockets, but it could have come from anywhere

I mean what are the odds? A meteorite hits Mars with enough force to blast rocks off the face of Mars, fast enough to achieve escape velocity, then this rock sets a trajectory for Earth, falls as a meteorite in Antarctica, where its just sitting on top of the ice for us to find.

Yup has to be from Mars because NASA says so... even though NASA admits they are not 100% sure

Like the "Life based on Arsenic" they 'discovered' at Mono Lake... only to have it shown they messed up the tests... and din't really discover a new life form... Way to go NASA

Just rush to a press conference... then worry about scraping the egg off later

And remember those two NASA geniuses that found liquid water in a photo? Only to have some internet blogger point out to them that the photo was on a vertical slope

Druvalo M. sais: According to Thoth, Mars looked much like Earth a little less than a million
years ago. It was beautiful. It had oceans and water and trees and was just
fantastic. But then something happened to them, and it had to do with a past
“Lucifer rebellion.”From the very beginning of this experiment we are in—and all of God’s creation
is an experiment—experiments similar to the Lucifer rebellion (if you want to call them rebellions) have been attempted four times. In other words, three other beings besides Lucifer attempted to do the same thing, and each time it resulted in utter chaos throughout the universe.
More than a million years ago, the Martians had joined the third rebellion, the third time that life decided to try this
experiment. And the experiment failed dramatically. Planets everywhere were destroyed, and Mars was one of them. Life attempted to create a separate reality from God, which is the same thing that’s going on now. In other words, a portion of life attempted to separate itself from all other life and create its own separate reality. Since everyone is God anyway, this is okay—you can do that. The only thing is, it never has worked so far. Nevertheless, they tried it again. When someone tries to separate from God, they sever their love connection with Reality. So when the Martians (and many others) created a separate reality, they cut the love bond—they disconnected the emotional body—and in so doing they became pure male, with little or no female within them. They were purely logical beings with no emotions. Like Mr. Spock in Star Trek, they were pure logic. What happened in Mars, and in thousands and thousands of other places, was that they ended up fighting all the time because there was no compassion, no love. Mars became a bat-tieground that just kept going on and on and n, until finally it became clear that Mars was not going to survive. Eventually they blew their atmosphere away and destroyed the surface of their planet. Before Mars was destroyed, they built huge tetrahedral pyramids, which you’re going to see in photographs in the second volume. Then they built three-sided, four-sided, and five-sided pyramids, eventually building a complex that was able to create a synthetic Mer-Ka-Ba. You see, you can have a space-time vehicle that looks like a spaceship, or you can 100 have certain other structures that do the same thing. They built a structure from which they were able to look ahead and behind in time and space to tremendous distances and time periods. A small group of Martians tried to get away from Mars before it was destroyed, so they translated themselves into the future and found a perfect place to resettle before Mars was destroyed. That place was Earth, but it was about 65,000 years in our past. They saw that little vortex sitting there on Atlantis with nobody in it. They didn’t ask permission. Being part of the rebellion, they didn’t go through the normal procedure. They just said, “All right, let’s do it.” They stepped right into that vortex, and in so doing, they joined our evolutionary path.

I remember seeing this one somewhere, but forgot completely about it.

The -reason- i forgot is because, I believe, at the time, the journal this was published in was deemed to be untrustworthy and, therefore, the research of this man (presented there) is called into question. There were some other things brought up.

That's why I forgot. I assume he was wrong since I haven't heard anything more.

I want to believe it, but we need confirmation from other reliable sources.

"And all the water on Mars was sucked into that vortex and dumped on Earth causing huge floods...."

That explains where the Martian water went and where the flood waters on Earth came from...

Just leaves the question where did the flood waters go

I wouldn't be surprised, I definitely without NASA's verification believe there is other life out there compared to Earth. Cool thread though, the main question is, is that life intelligent?

Some of you guy's are just kidding? Right?.....Yes...Mars had oceans and still has water in the polar regions frozen. Life may and probably did exist on Mars as anywhere there is liquid water...there is bound to be life.

Now the real question is....did life have enough time to evolve to a state that was intelligent? Given the approximated timeline that begins about the same time that Life on Earth started to evolve and ending that timelive at the aproximated time that Mars lost it's magnetic field due to he cooling of it's inner core and when this happens....a cooling of a spinning liquid metalic core....the spinning stops and so ends the Magnetic Field.

Earth has such a field and without it...the Suns radiation as well as Cosmic Radiation....would burn off Earths Oceans as well as kill any life on the planet as well as burn off the majority of Earths atmosphere. This is what happened to Mars but more than a Billion years ago.

So the question remains....but after a Billion or so years...any reminants of a civiliation would decay and weather...Mars still has a slight atmosphere as well as massive erroding dust storms....to dust. We would have to send people or highly advanced and large robotic equipment....to dig deep to find any real evidence of life.

My opinion...Mars once had life....and without arguement from anyone....had vast liquid water oceans....but Ido not think enough time passed for life to evolve to a level of any Intelligence before Mars lost it's Magnetic field because of a Core Spin shutdown due to cooling of the core.

One bright spot...because Mars doesnot have a molten Mantle or core....there is no longer any movement of tectonic plates....thus...no SUBDUCTION....the process of a plate being pushed or slid under another thus liquifying the plate and anything on it such as fossils or artifacts if there truly was born intelligent life. So the evidence would still be there. Split Infinity

This was acknowledged by the scientific community as far back as 2005... but even today I bet if you asked the average Joe on the street they wouldn't have a clue that this is fact. It is interesting that a scientific grail such as this is not all over the Media ...

Did you miss the official report that made headline news years ago from NASA that found evidence of fossilised bacteria on Mars rocks?

I mean, it's not as if they haven't said already there may have been life there in some form.

Yes I remember that.. But wasn't it marks left behind where they think the bacteria had been more like impressions rather than fossils?

In Their own perspective NASA work perfectly.

The pale ghost shadow of the "official" NASA is only a mirror for the public.

There are two levels. The Real hidden NASA (the military) work at its best from decades.
