G'day I live in Australia just looking for some ways to make money with little/no start up costs.
Not looking for ways to make money in a post apocalyptic world just looking for ways that I can make some money in general.

Edit: I have a job just looking to earn some extra income.

Also why is everyone saying online can people not give some money making ideas that require actual skills offline.

cheers

Your best bet is to get a job, any job... it'll pay more than a low cost random start up internet business you're considering.

Unless you have a wonderful idea for an internet business, which would require web-designers, programmers and advertising costs just to get you started ^_^

Depending on your skills and what you're willing to learn, there's tons of things you can do to make money online.
None of them cost no money at all though.

You could make iPhone and Android games, do affiliate marketing, use php scripts to make internet startups like social networks, sell stuff on eBay, and do freelance work such as graphic design and coding.

Those are the things I do so thats what I know, but I'm always learning new things and trying new things.

This is the basic rule to making money: No matter what you wanna do, and it could be anything; There will always be someone out there who will pay you to do it.. You just gotta find out who, and it might not be the person buying it.

It doesn't have to go that far. If you are female you can sign up to one of those sites where you talk dirty to some guy. It's all anonymous and he doesn't know you are wearing leggings with dog hairs and your husbands muddy fleece rather than some sexy negligee.

That's chump change. Those sites dont pay much.

Start your own site like that that pays chicks for going on cam.
You have to have a niche though, there's too much competition.
A good idea would be to have an adsense supported site so its free for people to watch the videos, but then instead of giving money to the people on cam, you give them prizes based on their performance ratings from the viewers.
All you need is a script, hosting service with a domain name, and some extra cash or a great way to advertise it.

Be it online or off, making money is serious.
You cant jump into it with "how can I make money online?"... There's more to it than just looking for the money, you need a niche and a service and the people who want that service.
Don't worry about how much you will charge people, let the advertising agencies pay you.

Been thinking the same thing recently. Make stuff. Basically look at your surroundings and find things that are provided free by natural, i.e wood and make hand made products and sell them online or to locals. 100% profit. You will need to make sure that your source is sustainable, so if you are hacking trees, replant with fast growers otherwise you will soon find that your supply is gone. Also there are enough problems with our planet without every tom dick and harry ruining the environment, so remember always to respect mother nature and only take what you need. If wildlife depends on that habitat, leave it.You dont want to be materially rich, but spiritually poor.

This. Also, search for keywords like "lot" and "broken" on Craigslist. When I was unemployed I made pretty good money off Craigslist. For example I bought a lot of maybe 200+ items for $20. In the lot was a broken Xbox 360 I sold for $35 on Ebay... everything I sold from then on was profit. People are always putting up huge lots of stuff they want to get rid of for crazy cheap.

Also managed to pick up a "broken" Playstation 3, a controller, and a game for $75 on Craigslist. Turns out all it needed was a quick system reset and now it works good as new. Kept that one though

In Australia, I hear you have an influx of immigrants that are not really part of the Aussie culture. Find out what they like, what they want but don't have or can't find... and then fill the need.

I do that with the hispanics coming to North Carolina...I sell tomatoes, chilies cliente', and cabrito...goat. Just yesterday, a truck drove up out of no where, several Hispanos wanted a goat, and I picked up a quick hundred bucks.

If that is not possible, look at scrap metal for cash at a salvage yard, fixing and mending pallets... some shipping companies buy recycled pallets, ...I also sell firewood...don't know how that would fly there...

Again, look for a need that is local...landscaping/ lawn maintainance...plant installation... basically need a rake, a shovel...maybe a mower...hopefully you have apickup truck...and you are in business.

I also take scrap wood from packing crates by dumpsters and make dog houses, picnic tables, bird houses... all it takes is a little skill and time... also hunting is big here in rural NC, so I also make dog boxes...a large box for hunting dogs that slides into the back of pick up trucks... basically a dog house with a flat roof to slide into a pick up bed... and all the wood is free.

Good luck...

I have a friend who sells houses. Sometimes people have to wait longer than they expected for their house to close and they have no where to live. Hotels are expensive. I rent out rooms on a short term basis for people who can't get into their new houses. They pay me whatever they want. So far it has been great.

Put an ad in the paper and run errands for people. Change lightbulbs for old people, go shopping for people who have just gotten surgery, drive people to and from colonoscopies or from cancer treatments, or other medical procedures, walk dogs or dog sit for 2 weeks, bring in trash cans for people who work late so they won't be fined.

Every old lady I know has someone who will wash windows, change lightbulbs (especially outside spotlights), do minor house repairs (like spackle holes, replace bathroom washers, do bug spray outside, and paint a room), hang a curtain rod, and anything that involves getting on a ladder.

Collect coupons from re-cycle bins and sell the coupons on ebay (10 for a dollar with free shipping).

Recycle cans from everyone in your neighborhood. They pay per pound.

Make Christmas ornaments and sell them at craft shows. Everything sells if it is only a dollar or two.

Housesit for people who have bedridden family members or mentally retarded kids, so they can go out and shop or go to the movies.

A STAR for you because in reality, one who chooses the ideas on your list, has a higher probability of being successful in life over one who chooses to put in a hard days work at an honest and decent full-time job nowadays.

[color=limegreen]Minimum wage in the U.S. today would be $18.00 an hour if wages were adjusted for inflation since the 60's. We, the American worker, as USUAL, are getting SCREWED!!!!

What a country. Its gone to hell.

One idea that people up in Canada do is buy a metal detector. They have $1 and $2 coins in CA, and I believe you have them in Australia as well. Get yourself a decent detector like around the $500 range. Go out and see what you can find in the earth.

Always ask for permission before detecting on private properties to avoid bad confrontations with the property owners or the police.

You'd be amazed at some of the things that people find out there. I know that there is gold in Australia also. Get yourself a good gold detector, and that could open up doors to ways to make lots of money, if you live in a part of Australia that has steams with gold in them nearby. Learn to pan gold too. A gold pan is a cheap way to make lots of money if those streams have gold where you're at.

There's thousands of videos online of people from your country going out with their metal detectors and actually making a complete living with it.

The above info only applies if you're the kind of person that would like to do treasure hunting in your free time.

i think there has been some good ideas posted on this thread - anyway, go for the gold - hopefully you live near a vein since your method of transportation is limited - or better yet get a pooper scooper and move to n.y.

ebay. Go into your local dollar store, find out what is the most popular selling item, buy some of that stock and put it on ebay.
