Last Sunday 11th December 2011 I was standing outside having a smoke with the company man. I was working on a land rig in Southern Algeria near a place called Inamenas in the Sahara Desert. The time was 06:15 GMT+1.

It was still dark and we could see a star then to the right the moon and then another star. Blow the star on the left there was a bright white flashing light. We thought at first it might have been a plane but the object was flashing very erratically. The flashing light was travelling from left to right. The company man joked to me that that could be a UFO since he knows my interest in the subject. As we were watching the flashing light travel accross the sky the white light flashed red all of a sudden then about 5 or 6 white flashes appeared to the left of it in a semi circle. Then the flashes disappeared and the original light continued on it's course flashing white. That was really strange. It was moving quite quickly so it didn't take too long before it was just past the moon. Then it did it again. It flashed red and 5 or 6 white flashes appeared in a semi circle to the left of it. They then disappeared and the light continued on it's way. Eventually it got to the star on the right and then disappeared.

This whole episode occurred over a few minutes. Me and the company man looked at each other, shook our heads and then he said. 'I think I've just witnessed my first UFO'.

Yep. That he did. That was really strange.

Anyone seen something like that? Any idea what the flashes were about?

I have seen UFOs three times in my life and never once did I think about my cell phone or its capacity to photograph the incident. There is no way it could. Don't be a dolt.

If you have seen your first UFO, it certainly will have planted a seed inside you. That's to say, you are changed. Something just became very real. You will know.

this is a b.s. mentality to have! as if some sort of media is required to validate a personal experience.
he's just relaying what he witnessed and asking if anyone has seen similar.
quit tolling.

p.s. an adults first reaction isn't to go for their cell phone

That would be 2 minds then since the company man also witnessed it. Didn't have my personal cell phone with me. Just had a cheap phone for local network.

No need to validate my story. I know what I saw and the company man knows too. It was unfortunate that I had no means to take a pic or video but that always happens. When you have a camera you never see anything, when you don't something appears. I was quite surprised to see it. Been working here 3 years and this is the first UFO I've seen here.

You have commented on my story but please don't say the old and tired quote 'Pics or it didn't happen'. That's a lame quote!

Hi there,

That sounds pretty cool, shame you didn't get any video or pics,, but I'm guessing the distance it was and the darkness you wouldn't have got much...

Same thing with me really,, I was on Koh Phangan, Thailand for the full moon party,, dont know why I bothered, it was commercial as fook and loads of kids, but hey, thats another story..

On the way there I met a couple of German blokes and ended up hangin out with them most of the night.. At about 12-1ish in the morn we were walking along the beach inbetween stages when I looked up at the sky, and no sh1t, a small way out from the shore there were 4 glowing sphere's hovering, I guess just watching the shanannigans... Mmm, must learn morse code n see I can signal them to come join the party next time..lol.

I turned round to the people I was with and said, "I think we've just had our first UFO experience", at the point one of the sphere's shot off up in to the sky,, and I have never seen something move so fast!!..

One of the people I was with took it in his stride and was cool about things, the other was a lil freaked out and wouldn't really accept things.Lol.

the annoying thing is, I had a camera on me,, but because it was a crap camera and it being night I didn't bother with it,, kicking myslef now for not at least attempting to get a pic!!

I've had a couple of other encounters since, but nothing as close as they were in Thailand!!

Anyways, just thought i'd share that share that with you.

Thanks for sharing yours.

Namaste

I agree the quote "pics or it didn't happen" is lame. however true how do you expect validation if you did not do your do diligence to get some concrete evidence. look, check my posts, no one else here at ATS is more of a true believer than me however am I to just take your word regarding your encounter. I too have had encounters do you believe me? you will never convince anyone outside of yourself without proof and even with proof good luck.... convincing anyone of anything that goes against what they have been conditioned to believe
to cut this short and hopefully avoid an argument my point is this

NEXT TIME and I am sure there will be a NEXT TIME keep or get a camera or smartphone close to you

peace

You do understand that "validation" is totally irrelevant, don't you? Enough people in the world have seen them that it would be like seeing a fox on the way to work one day. You just don't need pix for everything. People who deny the existence of UFOs are unlikely to be convinced by photo evidence anyway. It will always be a chinese lantern or a bird or an insect or something other than what it clearly is. There will always be pixelation or some shadow or sun flare or god-only-knows-what. So why jump through hoops for the debunkers? Why should anyone feel any need for "validation"? If you can't trust your own eyes and your own experiences, why would you cast that to unknown others?

I certainly welcome all reports, just as I like to find a good recipe online. But I'm not going to demand that they send me a sample of their experience. My own corroborates theirs and vice versa. My own knowledge of the subject at hand is enhanced and promoted with that sharing.

I do know, I know very well but I also know how hard it is to convince those in your circle of friends and family of the personal extra terrestrial encounters I have had since being a very young child. I have been the butt of many jokes that is why I said what I said and furthormore can any debunker here (You know who you are) tell me the name of the girl who posed for the video below because I encountered her as a child

and I really don't care if any of you choose to believe me or not

I KNOW WHAT I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a cool experience. Wish I'd seen that one. This sighting will be my 6th in the last 3 years. My first one in 2008 I didn't have a camera with me. Or even a cell phone. It was a damn shame because it was daytime and the object was plain to see. The camera would have caught it. Saw it from a Air France flight flying from Paris to Tunis. During watching the object a fighter jet chased it so ever since then I've been kicking myself for not having a camera. I now carry a camera on every flight I travel on which is every month.

The second one was in 2010 over london Gatwick. I saw it when the plane was taking off. We were in between cloud layers and I only saw the object for about 10 - 20 seconds. It was too distant for a camera though. Plus the camera was in my bag in the overhead locker. Sheesh!

The next 3 were over my house in Scotland. Me and the wife watch objects zipping throughout the night sky here and there. We live in the country away from all background light so we can see the stars really clearly. (Need to buy a decent camera!)

Aha! Good idea for an Xmas pressie for me. lol

I'd love to be able to catch one on camera. But for some unknown reason there's never a camera in the right place at the right time.......Maybe the Aliens can sense when u have a camera on you.....lol

It's hard to say what this was. It wasn't close up and there is little detail. I've had a couple of UFO sightings like this but they're hard to validate. It could be a satelite, a plane, or something like that. There can be strange light effects from the upper atmosphere or low orbit.
